Shape, I understand what your saying...but I'm a sucker for young talent. If I was in charge, we would have traded alot of pieces away for Gerald Green. The fact that we got a steal makes me think this is the highpoint of our failed season. I'm not dissing Shane as a player because we still don't know if Gay will be good. I want more in return if we are in fact giving up Swift and Gay.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting THE DREAM:</div><div class="quote_post">If we sign Mike James back he will bring another scorer to the table.....not only did we get Battier from the Grizz but we got to dump loser also...so that means more cap space for FA's........ Battier makes this team better.</div>

Did we really get any cap space back? Battier and Swift have pretty much the same salary (actually, there's two more years on Battier's contract). I never understood the NBA salary cap rules. I guess we get a few extra millions from getting rid of the 8th pick? Maybe?

Well what's you preference in terms of team success? Watching the Rockets make the NBA Top 10 every night or watching them win a championship?

You will get something in return for Swift ... cap space.

Stromile Swift doesn't care about basketball. Winning or losing doesn't make a difference to him, the only reason he plays is because of the perks and the paycheck. He's the poster child for everything wrong in the NBA.

The Rockets need to bring in players who are hungry and want to win.

Battier is damn good and he replaces one of the weakest positions in houston last year. Rudy Gay went down to #8..HELLO if he was that special he would go top 5!!! He has no inside game and shot..Swift can dunk too>>>learn it he has no bball IQ!! Gay might learn but it's gonna take 3 years. If it does take 3 years for Gay to turn to a Kwame Brown or KG..but during that time of rebuilding...yao aand mac would have done bad without support and rocket fans would blame how their whole career they had no support. With battier and hopefully mike james, they have a better chance. I like the lineup..if sura's back healthy, spanoulis hopefully plays some, Houston is gonna do well. Battier is a leader and he's focused ...who knows what's up in rudy gay's mind..he might be another darius miles.

lol I dont care for Swift except for the fact that we lose minor depth when we give him away. We are still over the salary cap so the extra space is a minor help. My ideal bench coming into the draft was we traded for Gerald Green and drafted Rudy gay.

While on the topic of the draft and how hard it is to predict a player's future in the NBA, I thought people might like this article:

To sum up, a drunk Eddie Griffin was masturbating to porn on his in-dash DVD player when he crashed his SUV into a parked car.[IMG] I've done a few dumb things in my car, but I've never been drunk and masturbating when driving.
