I wouldn't trade CJ for Cousins.

I don't think I would either. Can we get him another way?

At 5:46 Cousins gets mad because Henderson stopped in front of him while talking to the ref.
Pushes Henderson, getting a tech with the score at 95-92.
Lillard hits the FT pushing it to 96-92.
Blazers go on a 10 - 4 run in less than 2 minutes after this. With Cousins clearly pouting on every Blazer basket.

Yeah this is a guy that is worth the risk.

Entertaining part is Shaq called out DMC twice on inside tonight.
"Why are you resting? get a high seed in the playoffs, not good enough to be resting. Sends a bad message."
    On the tech.

Getting Cuz and having him help us win would exorcise the demons of trading away Sheed and not winning a playoff series for 11 years.

Dame knows the man. We trust Dame. There should be 0 fear in going after Cuz if Dame can reel him in and channel that fire.

Just a note, but for all of the antics and attitude problems on the court, Cousins is genuinely a good guy. He is routinely one of the guys that gives back the most to his community, and often does it anonymously.

Cuz would make us better, if we did not give up too much to get him. And Sacramento can get a lot more from other teams (i.e Boston) so maybe we wait two more years until he is a free agent....if he and Dame are friends.

Demons? As if trading Wallace wasn't the right thing to do?

It wasn't. He played a MAJOR role in winning a title the following year on a different team.

Yeah, I'm definitely not into giving up CJ to get Cousins. However, I would be open to trading pretty much any reasonable combo of anyone else to get him. I don't think we can get him this summer, but perhaps by next deadline? Let's see what BOS does - if they don't get him this summer, that improves our chances at getting him later down the line.

In fantasy-land, I would love if we could do Plumlee/Vonleh/+ for Cousins: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=h7w28rx

And then Aminu/Crabbe/+ for Rose: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=gv7mxyg (Although with DMC we wouldn't need Rose...my original idea regarding Rose was that he fills our need for a 3rd scorer and helps reduce Dame's minutes to keep him fresher.)

We'd re-sign Harkless and Henderson. And then we'd need to find a combo SF/PF.

    Dame/Rose
    CJ/Henderson
    Harkless/Back-up
    Davis/Back-up
    Boogie/Meyers

I'd probably downgrade "Major" to "Significant," but that's beside my real point. What does what happened elsewhere have to do with anything? He had to go. He and his fellow knuckleheads pissed away every bit of good will built up from the beginning through the Drexler era. Good riddance to bad rubbish. We came out WAY ahead in that trade, and we traded him for Theo Fucking Rattliff. Much the same way we came out ahead in the Zach Randolph-Channing Frye trade, addition by subtraction.

    smh.

I'd venture that Sheed still has more ties and does more in the Portland community than Clyde does.

The tech bothered me due to the position they were in.... you know it was 95-92 with two FT coming up for DMC...Under 6 to go. But I could get over that.

What I can't get over is the 10-4 run after it, his clear and obvious pouting on the court, and his body language towards teammates during the run.
If the only point that can be made is Lillard and DMC are friends.... That doesn't really hold much water.
Grow the fuck up DMC. I'd rather have Lillard focused on his team. Rather than making sure DMC isn't acting like a preteen.

If you cvan figure out how to keep Aminu in all of this, I think he is your backup SF/PF.
I would be all down and in agreement for this, but think Aminu is a great off the bench stop gap that you are looking for.
