I haven't followed the allstar games since Will the Thrill...they lost my interest ...glad you see them as improving though...I thought it turned into a yawn fest..even the skills competition was weak
There needs to be more events. A horse event. A game of 21. Etc. More. Skills challenge should be longer. More rounds in the three point, dunk contests.
Every team should get 1 participant in the 3pnt shooting & dunk contests (nominated by the teams themselves). The preliminary rounds of each contest should occur simultaneously at both ends of the court. A western team rep shoots at one end while an eastern team rep shoots at the other. Rounds should go like this: Preliminary - all 30 teams 2nd round - top 7 from each conference (14 participants) Final round - top 2 from each conference (4 participants)
I really like the idea of every team having a representative in each event. Fans would tune in to at least see how their players did. I'd probably tweak the rounds a little bit but this idea is great.
At least one rep from each team for all of Saturday night. Not 1 rep per team in each event though. That won't work for the 3 pt contest or dunk contest.
Get rid of Kevin hart first of all, dude used to be funny but it's just the same material over and over again. He has become that guy. I thought the All star game was good. The intros were whack and what the fuck was the intro before the intro with kevin hart and rob wiggle? that was fucking weird. Skills contest was waaaaay too quick. Felt like the commercials were longer. Three point contest was fine but LA nightlife definitely looked real with all the bricks that night. The dunk contest annoys the shit out of me. It was okay but I wanted to see more from dennis smith junior and oladipo. I am tired of the whole missing a dunk means I have to dock you some points horseshit. Not everything needs to be first try. It's too short of a contest. Plus these days the judges give out 50's like it's nothing. It doesn't make sense.
I do too! But do the teen kids of this generation want to see a legends game? I know when I was just getting into basketball in the late 80's I could have given a rats ass about a legend game. I wanted to see the Players that I knew of play the game.
The Legends were slipping discs in their back and tearing ACLs during the "games". There was/is a reason they retired.
