I think there's a rumored deal in place and you guys are trying to find a way to extract more from the Bulls than the actual deal is....

Frankly, I'd rather have Paul over Wade in your lineup, PLUS we'd have Okafor instead of Joel. And we could use Okafor a LOT.

You'd turn Rose into an SG? That doesn't sound like maximizing your assets. Okafor doesn't make up for moving a budding star out of his natural position. Sure Paul is an upgrade, but you're neutralizing Rose.

Another thought, How about LBJ and Bosh.

    PG: Rose
    SG: Rudy or Bayless
    SF: Lebron
    PF: Noah
    C: Bosh

Bigger better frontline. Rose in his natural position.

    Or

    PG: Rose
    SG: Wade
SF: Not sure on this one
    PF: Noah
    C: Bosh

I was thinking the same thing. If the Bulls had a shot at Paul and Lebron (or Paul and Bosh?) that would be a lot more desirable than facilitating some deal where Paul gets shipped to Portland.

Fair enough but if Chicago doesn't have the pieces to get Paul (I think this is likely or he would already be a Bull) then getting two of Lebron/Wade/Bosh is a pretty fucking fair consolation prize.

Rose played SG whenever Hinrich was in the game, which was most of the time for the 2nd half of the season. Rose's numbers went way up.

I think he's a scorer, and his game is closer to Jordan's than it is to Paul's.

You honestly are comparing the kid to Jordan? Or are you simply comparing styles?

Exactly, Jordan is nowhere near the talent that Rose is.

According to this guy, who actually swears he loves Derek Rose, Rose is WAY overrated:

    Sure.

He's 21, played 2 years and is an all-star in year 2. He upped his scoring from 16.8 to 20.8 and his PER from 16 to 18.6. More importantly, he's stepped his game up considerably in the playoffs, unlike say LeBron's teammates. Last year, 26.8 PPG and 7.2 APG.

If he develops his 3pt shooting, he'll be a devastating and much more efficient scorer.

So, was this whole 'rumor' started by O-Live's forum?

I really think it was. It just had a life of it's own and next thing we know people think it is real. There is no way we are trading Joel and Bayless for Deng without trading Batum fo CP3.

I agree. With Dung, besides being vastly overpaid, he's injury prone and you know that's the last thing we need is another player we have to worry about.

Speaking of Rose, he's the epitome of the new breed of PG's that I absolutely loath. Scorers mentality, pass second. He's no CP3 or D-Will.
