Nurkic+CJ is not much in terms of value, but you cannot risk that without commitment from AD. If there was commitment I'd say 100% yes to that. We would basically have 2 top10 players and that could attract the Wes Matthews of this world with very low contracts. I'd trade one of those 2 without commitment, but both is too much.
I wonder if Denver would even trade with us again? I wouldn’t mind sending Turner+25 there for Barton and Beasley
Which isn't bad. He was bad this year because he was hurt, and he started to get back to himself in the 2nd round. He's not a bad contract. Turner is.
But Beasley is just on 2.7M which is great. Moreover Nuggets don't need picks (especially such a late one) as they are already very young. Chance for such offer to be accepted is exactly 0%.
No matter how much Griffin tries, I think AD is gone. It's ridiculously far fetched, but I hope our playoff run entices AD to add our team to his list of potential destinations.
Yeah, I think I could manage to get excited by a starting lineup of Nurk, AD, Harkless, Hood and Dame.
Man imagine if AD could wait one more year and come as a Free Agent to Portland... Lillard CJ Hood Davis Nurkic Bench Anfernee Collins Aminu? And some Vets Just imagine
Only in your imagination. The truth is that we have NEGATIVE cap space. Some of the questions are... How negative? What can we do even though we have negative cap space? How valuable are our assets? Can we get players to sign for us on the cheap? ....
Blazers will have cap space next year, what you talking about? Portland has only six players under contract.
oops, I was thinking this year. Next year, we still won't have cap space UNLESS we don't sign anyone AND renounce all of our cap holds - unlikely.
Renounce everyone and we're left with like 7 players and about 15 mil of capspace in the summer of 2020. Still not realistic to simply add AD.
Am I wrong in thinking once Dame's supermax kicks in, we have zero flexibility for the life of that contract, assuming we keep CJ and Nurkic? Looking at how tight things are this year, makes me think it might be good to try for AD in trade. If you keep him then you could get vets to sign on the cheap to fill out the roster. If he bolts, then you have some space to try again with another max FA? Whichever way they go they need to make some moves now that will last a few years of Dame's window. Either trade the expiring and draft picks for Blake, go for AD or do something. Just remaining as is would mean losing some of our current FAs and not adding, maybe for the next several years.
Come on now. There is at least 10 teams AD would be traded to before the Blazers and there is no way, no way godfather, he would ever stay here. He needs to bright lights, sand, and all that shit. Hard to believe how shallow so many players are. Who on earth would choose to live in Florida? California, especially the bay area I can understand, but Miami??? Puh-lease
