Yeah, I was going to elaborate on the different routes we could take after that but one of them would include keeping Kanter and Hood which I think we could do if the rest happened.
It's just the framework. ET/Collins/picks/salary filler du jour to NO. Holiday/filler to PHI Butler to POR
Can we make this happen? I'd love this. So much Defense EVERYWHERE. Starters Dame Jrue Butler Collins Nurk(eventually) Reserves Simons Hood Prince Skal Kanter
1) Do you think they would realistically decide to go back to the process instead of trying to take the next step in the playoffs? 2) Even if all those guys left they would have cap space to pursue other free agents and unbalanced trades, you think they'd give that up for Simons?
Yes, if we were able to make the three trades I mentioned we'd open up the Full-MLE and could at the very least keep one of Kanter or Hood, probably both.
Coach cant make the ball go in, they got open shots and bricked, well there was air balls in there too. Then defensively, yeah the scheme sucks but couldn't guard them either. Its not all Stotts, its a team pounding they took. Stotts might be a bad coach, but I doubt he was in the huddle saying, hey guys dont pick up Draymond as he sprints down the floor, and make sure to keep jogging back in transition...
He was the main reason Philly stayed in it. His personality is NOT stronger than Dame's and our team is full of hard workers. Bro... Don't you know The Lord of Light Hearted Lockeroom Chemistry Smiles upon our brotherhood???
I'm sorry, this loss is ALL on Stotts. I see no other one to blame. Our team is equipped to play many defensive schemes. But when you have a punk ass coach who doesn't input schemes all season and attempts to do it on the fly, IN THE FUCKING PLAYOFFS.... The more I look at his offense the more I see how BASIC it is compared to the other teams in the playoffs. He's GOT to go.
If we run the fucking play where we just hand off to one of the two guards up top and let them try and create something against a trap I'm going to gouge my fucking eyes out.
Yeah it's basic and doesn't have movement but Aminu and Harkless can't pass at all really, they aren't even good at moving without the ball. Can't start both of those either. I think coaches and players gotta go just moving Stotts isn't going to make them be able to do basic basketball stuff all of a sudden...
You don't like the play where we just keep handing off at the top and running in circles 30 feet away from the basket where literally the only people moving are the wings/guards running 90 feet every play lol.
Oh yeah, it's awesome to do all that pointless work and then still not have anyone open with just a few seconds left on the shot clock.
I completely disagree that Harkless isn't good at moving without the ball. I will counter with the fact that Terry's offense doesn't allow it. We almost never cut. EVER. We're too busy doing dribble hand offs at the top of the key and flare screens. There should be constant movement downhill toward the basket but he'd rather put our guards in position to do something off the dribble. His rotations are a complete other pile of shit.
There are ZERO cuts to the basket in that offense. Sometimes the dribble handoff guy can FAKE the dribble handoff Terry... There's a thought... He'll get a better matchup too as the guard will have to make a decision... You know... Basic shit...
According to Chris Haynes, Dame will be getting the supermax this summer, meaning he is locked in until he is 34 years old. This is all-in or nothing time for Portland. If they take a win now approach, I think the moves below will make Portland a serious contender. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y6epgf6n CJ McCollum/Gary Trent Jr to NOP for Jrue Holiday: Holiday is not as an explosive scorer as CJ, but his defensive superiority is much needed in the backcourt. Having Dame and CJ as the defensive liabilities makes it extremely difficult to be an elite defensive team. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yyjxncyh Evan Turner/Mo Harklesss/2019 1st round pick to DET for Blake Griffin: This is a risky move with Blake's injury history, but he could be had for relatively low value. Detroit has been rumored to want to move on from Blake and enter full rebuild. Turner and Mo will be on the last year of their contracts and will allow DET to start the rebuild. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y6q53nhp Meyers Leonard to MIN for Robert Covington: Covington would help at SF as he is a prototypical 3 and D player.
I don't know if any of those other teams would do those trades except for maybe the 1st one but if we're trading CJ directly to New Orleans I would hope it would be in a package for Anthony Davis, not Jrue.
