I recognize Pippen's greatness and love (LOVE) his game, BUT: he's a Bull. So replace him with Roy (and play Drexler at SF) and we pretty much agree. (Maybe if we'd won a championship with Pippen we could claim him as the Rockets have claimed The Glide... but even then his Bulls championships would outweigh ours 6-1.)
True. But the Hawks have the, I think unique, distinction of drafting Sabonis a year before us and having the pick rescinded.
PG: Lillard SG: Drazen SF: Drexler (he would've played SF for me) PF: Mo Luke C: Sabonis (healthy or not he still would've been good) My team SMASHES all of yours!
Sorry for this, but I can't hold it in any longer. Can a mod please correct the title for the thread? Your vs You're. My grammar OCD is a real challenge sometimes.
SF - Mercy Mercy (no contest, all time favorite) PG - Terry Porter narrowly over Dame; I love Dame but he's still young. And I'll never forget Terry's record setting 3 point barrage at GSW. SG - Tough, "should" go with Clyde but he's dissed Portland too many times, Roy was cut off in his prime, sure can't say Isaiah Rider! Got to go with the Glide. PF - Rasta Monsta narrowly over Buck C - Duck narrowly over Sabas. I just loved Duck as a person, so vulnerable, so much NOT the egotistical typical jock. A mama's boy who was shy, loved to cook, loved animals. Had we known each other personally we'd probably have been good friends, not too many male athletes I could say that about. Walton dissed the team & city a few too many times plus he annoys me by saying one thing, when proven wrong then says yeah, he really said the opposite. Be a hippie, be a businessman, but don't be a businessman still pretending to be a hippie! Bench - Sheed, Danny Boy, Uncle Cliffy Damn, there's a lot of Blazers I love! Coach - Dr. Jack
Favorite persons at each position who were Blazers, irrespective of talent: PG-STEVE COLTER SG-BILLY RAY BATES SF-JEROME KERSEY PF-MEYERS LEONARD C- ARVYDAS SABONIS COACH-JACK RAMSEY
I've only watched since 1990 so... Best are... PG Terry Porter SG Clyde Drexler SF Scottie Pippen PF LaMarcus Aldridge (Rasheed is close behind) C Kevin Duckworth
PG - Rod Strickland SG - Billy Ray Bates (even though I didn't get to see his play until after he flamed out - Wes probably passes him for me soon) SF - Ruben Patterson (on the court - not off) PF - Brian Grant C - Arvydas Sabonis
PG Terry Porter SG Clyde Drexler SF Jerome Kersey PF Buck Williams C Arvydas Sabonis My fav since I've been watching. Had they all been together we would be discussing two or three titles since 77 and not just one.
