I mean, many conservative leaning folks have kinks they like to hide. I've known a few like you before.
Nope but I know a good burger when I get one and there are still some chains that do a good job. Tried your Denny's burger and I'll just say not impressed. Wendy's is usually vastly underrated, and In-N-Out still makes a delicious fast food burger. I look for places that don't freeze their burgers and try to use fresh ingredients because you can actually taste a difference.
Maybe it's living here and dealing with "The Cult of Texas" but I find that place to be overrated. It's a small step up from McD's, definitely great at 2am after a night of drinking. Again their burgers have that frozen taste to them that they try to cover up by grilling them with mustard. Not the worst burger by any means, but not worth the hype that Texans give it and only going to get worse now that they sold out to a Chicago corporation, trying to take them national.
In-N-Out in Oregon is ass. McDonald's is far superior. The Dennys double bacon cheeseburger in Oregon taste like a homemade smash burger. It's a whole different level than any fast food burger I've had. Perhaps the region matters?
I know it’s one of the boring classics, but has anyone been to a halfway decent Burger King in the last like 20 years? That place is trash no matter where you go. I refuse to even go there anymore it’s so bad. Most big chain fast food is hit or miss as we all know, but ol’ BK seems to universally suck balls now. I feel like I have faint childhood memories of them serving edible food but those could’ve been fever dreams.
I don't even try to go there anymore. The building look like trash and the inside looks dirty. My kid loves McDonalds and Taco Bell anyways. So, if we do go, it mostly is to those two spots. Wifey and I try to go to Shake Shack, teriyaki chicken, pizza places etc for fast food nowadays.
What'll ya have?!!......What'll ya have?!! https://www.thevarsity.com/about#:~:text="What'll ya have…,dining experience like it anywhere! We have an upcoming trip to Hotlanta to catch a Braves game, and this place is definitely on the agenda! The Varsity!! (although, they're more known for their dogs.)
I’m intrigued by Shake Shack, but don’t know where to find it. I travel a lot through Denver, Salt Lake, Albuquerque, Boise etc. but have never come across one. There’s a teriyaki spot on every corner in Salt Lake which is awesome, large Polynesian population there. I hit up a ton of the small Mexican fast food joints also, the ones that inhabit old KFC and Dairy Queen buildings lol. Usually can’t go wrong there.
Tried a Whopper a few weeks ago and man it's not good. I swear they use their 'charbroiled' technique to try and mask how bad the burger really is. I probably go once every five years or so, just to remind myself it's still not good.
