I know it's not their best song, but it's a personal favorite. The lyrics' meanings are relevant to some things in my life. My cousin died in war, and the song is about war and how it is pointless, so it is one of my personal favorites. I use this song a lot to motivate me when I work out.
Yeah it's good, but it doesn't have a solo and I really like Dan Donegan's solos, and it's not very complex compared to some of the other songs on the CD, still a good song though.
One of my favorite Donegan solos was in Land of Confusion, I think it was in the 3rd minute.Land of Confusion is a pretty complex song, a bit different, more of a unique song. Even though it's a cover of a Genesis song, it has Disturbed's touch to it.
Yeah it is good, much better then the original. That Phil Collins puppet video makes me want to cry and then have nightmares. It's a short solo in Land of Confusion but it is good, I like the solos in Overburdened and Stricken a lot also.
The one is Stricken is the probably the best guitar solo all-time for Disturbed, i.m.o. But I like the one in land of confusion a lot. Not sure why, it just appeals a lot to me.Stricken was a well-made song. It was put together greatly.
I also agree there, the Stricken solo is my favorite all-time from any band, and I love the Land of Confusion solo, it's just too short. The Overburdened solo is much slower and has more of that power ballad feel to it, I like it too.Stricken is an all-around great song, well produced, has a great solos, good vocals, awesome guitar, it's probably the best song on the CD.I personally love 10,000 Fists, but it seems like most people tend to overlook it. What's your thoughts on it?
I think it's the icing on the cake. Good analogy, if you think about it.They should have made it the last song. My favorite line on the song is<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>You will remember the night you were struck by the sight.....</div>I like the new sound in the song , people say it's "common" and "basic" but I don't agree with them.
It's a very fast paced and loud and powerful song, I love it. It kind of reminds me of The Sickness but with a new sound to it, I guess what they were trying to achieve.I don't understand why they didn't make it a single though, it's a hell of a lot better then Guarded, that's for sure.
Guarded just begins like a f*cking monkey. Most disturbed's songs don't start of that quick, so I didn't like it too much. it's decent, but not up to par with the majority of the rest of the album. is overburdened a single? it should be.
I agree, it's still a Disturbed song and it's good, but the fact that it was the first single is a joke. I don't think anyone is going to like that over 10,000 Fists.Overburdened is not a single, but it would have been a good choice. The singles are as follows in chronological order:Guarded, Stricken, Just Stop, and now Land of Confusion, once the video for that is complete. Let's hope it's better then this piece of sh*t:http://youtube.com/watch?v=56QSkTnTTDg&sea...0of%20confusion
ROTFLhaha that's pretty funny.Anyways, I wouldn't mind seeing a Deify video. Bush would be in the beginning of the video lookin like a fu*kin turkey choking on a soft pretzel like he did 4 years ago..
Yeah, I'd prefer to see a 10,000 Fists or Overburdened video, but this is still a good song. I think they'll be done with this CD after this video, then it's time to tour and hopefully get back to work on a new album after that.
I wouldn't mind waitinf until 2008 if it's as good or even better than Ten Thousand Fists. One thing I would love to see is for Disturbed to get more recognition. In my eyes, they are the Metallica band (not as good guitars or drumming) of the modern-day metal.
I think Ten Thousand Fists helped them a lot in that department, as it to me broke them away from that nu-metal label which turned people away from them. The addition of solos which no nu-metal band uses, as well as their unique sound and true metal influence which shows in their music seperates them from other nu-metal bands in my opinion. They're much harder then say Linkin Park, and they really can't be compared to any nu-metal bands after this album. There really isn't any band which is similar to them, they definitely are very unique.
I think LP isn't nu metal, IMO. IMO, they're AlternRock, because they're hybrid of rap and rock, not like the other nu metal bands who copy half the stuff old metal bands did and the rest is their rebel crap and nothing creative. LP is unique tooAnyways Disturbed is more creative and I agree with you that Disturbed proved they belonged in the Heavy Metal group. Believe took them away from that, Sickness started it... but they got their brute strength and dignity and lyricalness (lol) back in 10,000 fists.
I don't really know what to classify Believe as, I guess it was still metal but it's really unlike any other CD or band...
