I think my dream scenario is that Beavers win this weekend. They get a bowl game and it kills any shot Utah has of going to the CFP. Ducks can still win the pac12 and the Rosebowl.
Because with one loss teams they’re looking for your best win and if Oregon is their best win and a 4 loss team, it will basically kill their shot at the CFP.
Wow, that Bama/Auburn game was fantastic! I LOVE it when Bama loses!! Two pick-sixes. Incredible. 1) OSU 2) LSU 3) Clemson 4) Georgia 5) Utah (This was a stretch for me as the committee might defer to Oklahoma, coming from a stronger conference) 6) Oklahoma 7) Alabama 8) Baylor 9) Penn State 10) Florida The committee may still fond a way to get Wisconsin in the top 10 following their nice win over Minnesota yesterday. We shall see.
UGA's route to the national title does not look very promising. If they somehow beat LSU in the SEC title game next week, they would still have beat 2 more top 4 teams. Though I'll obviously pull for Georgia, realistically I don't like their chances, both because of the quality teams they'll have to beat and because IMO, they're really not quite as good on both sides of the ball as they've been the previous 2 years.
Look, I know you're from Oregon and I too love the Oregon State Beavers but placing them at no. 1 whilst also in my heart, but realistically? Don't you think that's a little optimistic?
Having been born in Georgia, I'll also pull for Georgia, now that Alabama (my father's side of the family are all from Alabama) is out of the picture, but I too don't see then getting by three top four teams on route.
Georgia will have to beat LSU this weekend, then likely have to beat Clemson in the first round, and then likely have to beat Ohio State in the finals. Doesn't look too promising for the Dawgs.
Pretty amazing that Clemson hasn't lost in basically 2 full calendar years and has essentially zero chance to be the #1 seed in the playoff. Or that regardless of who wins the SEC championship, their reward for winning the conference will be the privilege of facing an undefeated defending national champion for a chance to play for a national title.
Gotta believe that part of the reason Clemson is not ranked higher is because of their strength of schedule. They had a close game vs NC but have been on a roll lately and they're healthy and their defense as almost tough as it was last year.
Oh, no doubt that OSU and LSU have far superior resumes and performances. I'm just saying that I don't know if I've ever seen an undefeated national champ fly so far under the radar as Clemson has this year, and it kinda sucks for LSU (or in the unlikely event of a win, Georgia) that they are what's waiting for them on the back end of an amazing season.
Yeah, personally, I believe that LSU and Clemson are the 2 best teams. I suppose there's an outside chance that IF LSU absolutely destroys Georgia and/or OSU either somehow loses to Wisconsin or does not win convincingly, maybe, just maybe, LSU leapfrogs OSU for the number one seed. Yeah, I know, it's not likely but hell, who knows.
What sucks about all of this is I don't like a single team with any shot at the CFP's... It's like the NBA lol.
I think I'm rooting for, the Blazers to remember how to play basketball so it's easier to ignore that the Ducks always find ways to screw up lol.
