I think so, because maintenance/repairs are a lot cheaper, especially with 3rd party parts/equipment.

Public transport is alot more cost effective and I'd rather ride the bus than around in a $500 tin can piece of crap.</div>

That only works if your a nerd and have no girl. Women dont want to ride the public transit with their dates. Guess I've been in the business of loving women for so long, I knew I need a "RIDE"...[IMG]

I got an 06 White Jeep Wrangler over Spring Break. I didn't want an 07 one because the engine is weak.

Joke or not, that's overly stupid. I'd so much ride public transportation if given the opportunity. Less on my behalf and much better for the environment.

its not overly stupid. Its based on observations. Do you make out with your girl on a public bus? lol Most WOMEN (not girls), prefer a man with his own mode of transportation. hey, but everyone's entitled to their own opinions... Public Transportation is trash where I live. I own 2 cars, a truck, and a jeep. love them all. I enjoy cruising and off-roading.

Public transportation for life! Or at least until I get my drivers license. Gotta work on that one, I have an old Volvo waiting for me.

If a the difference between getting and not getting a girl is your mode of transport, is she worth having in the first place?

I have my licence in Australia but certainly can't afford to own a car, so public transport is for me too.

That's such an asshole elitist attitude.

Women also don't like men with stretch marks. Go out and get plastic surgery before buying a third shitty $16K car, douchebag.

The Obvious answer is "NO" sir desmond. Of course you dont want to FALL IN LOVE with someone materialistic. But from past experiences, dates have been better when we have the privacy of our own vehicle and freedom to go where we want without having to rely on schedules.

I've tried going on dates using public transportation in the past, and the experience was fun but not as intimate. Some of the most amazing conversations I've had w/ females were during the drive to our date location. These are things she probably wouldn't talk about on the bus because they were private.

On a sidenote, I met my wife when I didn't have a car. I used to borrow my uncles car to go on dates... She knew I didn't have my own car, but she appreciated the fact that I did find a car to drive us around rather than riding the bus. Been with her ever since!!![IMG]

I got a black 2006 Saturn Ion. Its not the flashiest car in the world, but I think it looks nice and its my first car (well partly mine... I put in about half the money). Aside from weekends though, I usually just use it to go back and forth from the train station.

Here's the only pic of it I could find on google:

    Don't you live in L.A.?
    That makes a big difference.....
Here in New York, your clothes/personal style are more important than if you have a car or not. But New York of course is a lot easier to get around than L.A.
