What are your thoughts on the second half?

So we're heading into the post all-star part of the season which means there's plently of ball left to be played. It also means someone is bound to breakout, someone if going to fall hard and more than a few players will be moved in the coming weeks. So look into your crystal ball and answer me these questions three:

Which team will surge in the standings?

    Which team will choke?

Who are the buyers and sellers?

I see the Cubs taking the NL Central and the Reds finally shipping off Adam Dunn to an AL team in need of a DH

I also hope that the Pirates start playing better

Cubs seem to have turned it around since Piniella got suspended. It sure doesn't seem like Milwaukee should win the division.

ATL trades for another SP and passes New York to take the division.

Now that Andruw is heating up, its very possible that the Braves could overtake the mess. I hope they do.

During the telecast on TBS, yesterday, It was speculated it was more likely that the Braves acquire another Right handed bat coming off the bench. Though, never underestimate Schuerholz.

I think its clear the Cubs arent going to fall off, so the Brewers are going to have to play out of thier minds to maintain any lead at all....

They're playing well against the Jays but the Yanks would have to go crazy to even be able to sniff the wildcard, I guess it is possible though.

Any of the playoff team from a AL could beat the NL this year.

With the Jays being healthy again, getting a couple of key players back. They have a good shot at the wildcard. Hopefully.

Not even if Burnett can come back and pitch seven no-hitters. Seattle and Cleveland both have better team than the Jays. As long as Gibby is on the bench than I don't see this team doing much.

Heh, I was a bit homerish.

The only concern I have with the Jays is thier pitching.. It's... pretty bad. Batting is good.
Halladay - Not even close to CY Young form
Burnett - injury prone + inconsisant
    Towers - inconsistent
    Litsch - inconsistent
    Others - inconsistent

Meh.. I think they'll turn it around.
    You got to believe dude.

Sounds a lot like what people were saying last year.

The Brewers losing Sheets might be the nail in their coffin. None the less it's almost August and they are still in first so it's hard for me to write them off even though I might be a bit bias. I think the wild card is very likely for either Milwaukee or Chicago. You could see both in there come October.

Dude, the pitching has been the only thing keeping the team in games. Look at this series with Yanks, the Jays just couldn't get hits and when they did they have no chance of advancing them.

Roy has had about four bad starts and some time on the DL.

Burnett is exactly what anyone who has followed his career thought he would be this year.

Towers isn't in the five and hasn't been all year, spot starting at times.

Litsch is a kid who wasn't even on the radar in the spring.

In fact, the whole reason the pitching has been as good as it has been is because of a bunch of young, inexperinced arms.

They just had two series against the Red Sox and Yanks and off the top of my head I think they went 3-5. That's not bad on the road but it's not going to get you back into anything. Has this team even had a four game win streak this year? I don't think so, I guess you could look at that like they're due but you could also say that when it comes down to it this team can't win as often as they should or need to.
