Looks like he's out for the entire first round...

Maybe back by the second round when we get there.

Some basic research on this injury indicates its a bone fracture in the ankle. 6-8 weeks for most people. Some will require surgery.

I don't know for sure how bad Zach's is since they said he'll be evaluated in a week, but it seems like there's a good chance he's just out for the rest of the season. What terrible luck....

So Zach is out for likely the 1st Round.

Can Ariza somehow come back?

Casey Holdahl's response to whether Ariza could be brought in for a hardship because of Nassir's condition
I'm fairly certain Ariza is not eligible. It ain't happening.

So I'm guessing this applies to Zach as well.

Wow, I wasn't aware that they made a movie about Greg Oden's life.
When my son was in college at OSU I went shopping at a TJ Max or something like that in Corvalis and there was a whole row of Greg Oden jerseys...all in his original size ...it looked liike a dress rack as they were about 5 ft long...I probably should have bought one just for novelty of it

Thank you lord. Gabriel + whiteside and nurk is formula. Zach has been an abomination. Total trash. Imagine if he was healthy for game 2, stotts loves loyalty which means less minutes for whiteside and Gabriel. The Gods are on our side.

In this series we need as many big bodies as we can and your take on Collins is a foolish one as well.

God what a bust. Always injured now. Trade this dude while he has some value

I think that you're conflating a stress reaction with a stress fracture. A bit of google sleuthing reveals:

"In a stress reaction, the bone is beginning to weaken and to wear down, but has not yet cracked. If a stress reaction is caught early on, a runner can potentially avoid a stress fracture by giving the injured foot a break and allowing it to heal."

The info released by the team calls it a stress reaction. Still, not good news since the typical time listed for recovery is the 6-8 weeks you mentioned. I'm going to venture a guess that it depends on the severity and individual body differences.

You couldn't be more wrong. This is obviously a bad thing for a team with as small of a roster we have. Wenyen proved two things, he can play and he can foul faster than Zach. If Zach were back then we would still play both Hassan (obviously) and Wenyen... we actually would have had some depth in the front court.
