    Yeah, because that's a bit specific there. I've never met a Black German/Jew with the last name Smith or Johnson, either.

    But last name doesn't make you white.

    Republicans are going to be outraged because of Obama's comments about Martin looking like what his son would look like.

    How dare he make a comment like that!!! So much lunacy in that statement! Zimmerman is being unfairly made the villain because Zimmerman killed a black boy that looked like Obama's son.

    There's a race war in this country!


    Or so the Repub's want you to believe. Devisiveness and distraction is the righties only way back into the White House.

    unless like papag said there is some "secret" evidence out there, i predict an aggressive plea from the da, with a little face saving jailtime... if this goes to trial, and goes not guilty, gonna have ourselves a good ol fashioned nationwide looter riot

    LOL. And he's not even a "white" hispanic. He's lighter-skinned because his dad is white. But he's not what I'd call a "white hispanic". Rudy Fernandez was a "white hispanic".

    You don't bring people together by lying about what we are and hiding what makes us what we are. You preach that we all have values, we all have something to offer, and the differences between us are valuable. You preach acceptance and tolerance for those who are different.

    By blood, if your grandma was 100% Native American blood, you'd technically be 25%.

    I'm part-Cherokee, and they break it down very basically when considering if you qualify for the benefits they are provided.

    My father's family is from Hungary, their ship was turned away from Ellis Island so it went to Cuba where my dad was born. He looks white but he has a Spanish accent. I remember a few times when people gave him a bad time when I was growing up just because they thought he was Mexican based on his accent.

    (And just for the record my father came to this country legally when he was 21yrs old, served in the military and proudly became a US Citizen.)

    For good and/or bad people determine an other person's race on many things, looks, name or even an accent.

    I love how this is a Republican v. Democrat battle. Republicans have played a part, but so have Democrats. So you really need to quit looking at this as R v. D. It really isn't party lines - it's every man and his beliefs taking a side (or sitting on the fence). To those who throw the party lines into every argument as point the finger solely at one side is simply blind and ignorant (and therefore a Democrat - I kid I kid on this).

    But really.... STFU about it being R. v. D. It's really only about two lives. One that has ended, and one that ended the other's.

    I'm going to start doing this with my friends. "Where are we going to dinner tonight guys?" My friend suggests a taqueria. Me: "Fuck no. I can't eat Mexican food. I'm now going to be a Republican. Republicans generally are WASPs. I can only eat white-people food. Let's go to McMenamin's and have a burger and fries.'

    Have a voice, have an opinion. Quit hiding behind the political party line in every fucking debate. It's lame.

    My parents met at the air force base swimming pool, my mom was a military brat. She's a red head and pretty hot in her day. Anyway one time when I was a little kid we were eating at a Chinese restaurant in NE Portland when two 2 drunk guys in the booth next to us started talking shit to my mom and dad, asking my mom why she was with some greasy spick and other rude shit. Weren't white guys good enough for her and what kind of an example was she setting for her son (me). I guess me being blond w/ blue eyes and my dad with a Spanish accent they assumed he wasn't my dad.

    What was really weird was up until that very moment I didn't know my dad had an accent. My dad sounded like my dad. Even to this day when people meet my dad they say he sounds like Ricardo Montalban but I don't hear it.
