VITALS: 6-11, 196 FMP Zeleznik (Serbia)

OVERVIEW: Erceg has been a journeyman in Serbia, playing for numerous clubs, including the past two seasons with FMP Zelenik Belgrade. With the club, he appeared in games in the Adriatic League and ULEB Cup. In the Adriatic League, he averaged 12.7 points and 4.3 rebounds - scoring 20 or more points five times.

LIKELY DRAFT POSITION: Mid-to-late second-round pick.

    COMPARATIVE UPSIDE: Zarko Cabarkapa

    COMPARATIVE DOWNSIDE: Gregor *****

    ROLE PROJECTION: Perimeter-oriented tall man.

POSITIVES: Erceg is a highly skilled thin forward who, despite his height, is more comfortable playing small forward. He can shoot the jumper with ease out to 20 feet, and he is adept at putting the ball on the floor for one or two dribbles and then pulling up on balance for a mid-range shot. He likes to make the pass into the post and will also pop out to help the guards to distribute or reverse the ball. Defensively, he is quick and agile enough to guard small forwards on the perimeter.

SHORTCOMINGS: Erceg may never be able to gain enough weight to even play as a combo forward in the NBA. He's already turned 22 and weighs barely 200 pounds. With his current build there is no reason to expect that he will ever be much of a factor on the boards. His height enables him to get shots off against almost anyone, but other than that factor, he plays more like a 6-6 player.
