If Carmelo were to agree to a sign and trade - would you do this deal?

Aldridge + Fernandez

for

Anthony

?

I truly believe this to be a win-win trade.

Then trade Miller, Pryz and Batum for CP3.

Sign a PF vet to shore up the 4.

How about we don't do trade #1 and we do trade #2

Exactly.

If we could have even done the second trade, why not just go with it in the first place? You'll obviously be stronger at all 5 positions.

And yes, it'd be foolish to pass up Carmello for Aldridge. But Aldridge is my favorite player and I want to see how well he does at 260 lbs.

Of course, 2 role players for an NBA star???? Only a homer would say no.

No.

Melo is a head case. A deeply talented head case, but a head case nonetheless. LA is a perfectly good enough PF for a title run so long as Oden is healthy. If Oden isn't able to play, it won't matter who our PF is, we're not making a run for the title.

Melo is an awesome player. He is top 2-3 in the league offensively. He is truely unstoppable most nights. But with or without a signed extension he would never last in Portland. Just a guess, but that is what I would fear.

But talent wise I would do that trade in a heart beat. And I am a LMA fan.

For the life of me, I can't recall how he's been a head-case. Please enlighten me.

No. That's an awful trade for Portland.

I'd do Aldridge and Rudy for Anthony, though. I'd even trade Aldridge and Rudy for Kenyon Martin. Aldridge is soft, Martin would bring much needed rage.

I wouldn't do it, Melo isn't clean cut enough and once had cornrows in his hair and we all know what that means ... wait? What does that mean?

It means he'd be adding some needed ghetto to the team. All great teams need a little ghetto. That's why Miami is going to fail, ultimately.

Kind of a pointless discussion.

A. LMA + Rudy for Anthony wouldn't work from a dollars standpoint even if LMA weren't a BYC player. He is, however, a BYC player so the numbers aren't even close to working.

B. Everything I've read says Anthony wants to go to a big city. Portland doesn't exactly fill the bill.

If that's the case then we're good as long we keep Rudy and his blonde highlights plus Bayless and his waxed eyebrows.

How about Oden and Bayless and Fernandez instead... I know the $$ doesn't fit, but I like LA too much.

Oden on the other hand......sheesh....

Autzen on the other hand..... sheesh.... wouldn't exist without grandpapy Phil Knight. Great you bought yourself a loud stadium, good for you

I kinda wish the team would just cut Oden. It's pretty obvious they're just keeping him around as a gimmick. "Come see the former #1 pick."

How is UO/Autzen different from any other college venue that receives donations? Reeser? The UO isn't the only venue to receive funds from a loyal grad.
I'm sure you don't have an issue with Allen buying draft picks, right? Besides, Autzen existed back in 1967 when construction was complete and an Oregon State grad named Thomas Autzen donated roughly 10% of the cost of construction. So, actually, you're wrong. It would and did exist w/o Mr. Knight.

Too funny, Ministrel. Too funny... Maybe we could get some dancing poodles and a monkey too.

I wouldn't cut him, I'd at least try to swing a trade for the Alligator Skin Man, or the Bearded Lady

Exactly in the same way Rudy supposedly has.

He doesn't like his role, sees his team going nowhere, unhappy with the way his coach limits his game, and asked to be traded.

Hmmm, maybe Rudy is simply a good guy with incredible talent and the headcases are the fans who turned on him.

I'd do that trade (LMA for Anthony), especially if he signed an extension. Denver wouldn't.

I agree about Oden. We should all be suing him for being a bust who will never amount to anything. He should really just retire. And then NBA should give us back the pick. So we can take someone new, like Noah. Or Horford. Or one of the other many hundreds of players who the Blazers passed over and were well known to be superstars in training!

Cept that Rudy isn't unhappy because he sees his "team going nowhere". He sees his ROLE on the team going nowhere.

Sad Truth Julius. Hopefully he'll see the light we when start 18 - 0 !!!!!!!!

Thanks for the bullshit. We can always count on you for more of it.

Teams don't trade their superstars to another team in the same division. It just doesn't happen.

We aren't getting Caramello.
