I just don't see what we can realistically offer them, aside from Rubio being compensation for taking Pek's contract off of their hands.

ewww, that's disgusting. Rubio has zero value imo.
Toxic contract+gets injured when it matters the most+bad shooting and questionable character.

I would be willing to trade him for Fraizer IF he is willing to cut his contract by 80%.

What's a past-first point guard and why would we want one?

I think we'd be better off signing Sergio. He'd be cheaper, doesn't have the history of injuries, and seems to have developed a decent outside shot. And I think he's every bit the passer Rubio is.

Are you saying you don't think a journalist in Charlotte is a credible source for Blazers rumors? :rotfl:

Whew, that makes sense. It could have been past-fist but that would have been way too much information about his personal life.

He's Spanish...the word is out about Portland and Spanish players..he knows Claver, Sergio and Rudy..just kidding but his passing would not hurt the Blazers at all.

If he was a Blazers we wouldn't want to let him go but we don't have him, we don't want him.

Love Rubio, and he has the best DRPM of any PG (but the fact Curry is second kind of undermines the stat), but does his game work in the modern NBA? Arguably he's a poor man's Jason Kidd (certainly before Kidd developed a 3-point shot), but would a young Jason Kidd work today either?

    HOWEVER:
    1. There's nothing behind this rumor other than another rumor of collapsed trade talks with the Wolves, a rumor that was debunked at the time anyway, and didn't mention Rubio either.
    2. I really don't think the Wolves are ready to give up on Rubio. Their team fits Rubio much better than ours. Zach Lavine was flashy as all hell but useless as a PG last year, and the Duke kid from Minnesota that they drafted struggled in Summer League. If they want to trade him, it will be mid season or something.

I know everybody likes to hate on the furriners, but the Wolves were MILES better with Rubio than without him last year.

"Trading Ricky Rubio now would be foolish for the Minnesota Timberwolves"

Sergio has re-signed with Real Madrid. He flirted with the NBA this off-season but apparently with little interest. The huge glaring difference between the two is defense: Rubio is good at it, Sergio is, well, not.

When does it NOT matter to get injured? Conversely, when did anything matter to the Wolves last season?

And "questionable character"? Where do you get that?

I'd happily take rubio for cheap. I just don't see it happening. Seems less like a rumor, more like guessing

Yes, we all love to hate on the "furriners," but how exactly did Rubio come away without the one asset that most European players are known for? He can't shoot a lick.
