There's a difference between "pining" and saying that I would match, but I also didn't realize that his max was 20+ (as clearly stated in that quote.) I would still trade CJ. Right now. Crabbe was signed to that contract because the Nets wanted him to be their starter, and if Crabbe was starting somewhere, his contract could be considered reasonable. Perhaps this is true. 4 years/$70 might look different as time goes by. But it's hard to imagine it will ever be seen as a "favorable" contract. Eric Gordon and his 4 year/$53, now THAT looks like a steal. Harden in playing at/near MVP level, but he's not doing it by himself. Gordon gives them a second elite playmaker and shooter, which is why their offense is top notch and they are winning. We had hopes that our salary cap room last summer would bring us that type of difference maker, and we got ET instead. Of course Gordon's injury history made him a risk, but it looks like a great move to date. Don't think I'll ever feel that way about ET.
