I've heard that it's a possible tear in the Achilles and he may be out for a year.
He's supposed to get an MRI, which will tell them definitely what's going on, but I haven't heard if he's had that yet or not.

Many MDs took to Twitter and said it looks like a complete rupture.

if it is an Achilles tear, the Warriors will deservedly get a lot of condemnation for letting Durant play.

as for Durant's free agency...wow...this complicates things a ton. I'd imagine that teams would still be willing to unload a truck-full of money on him, but it probably won't be an 18-wheeler anymore; much shorter bed on the truck. And if a team does offer a big contract, I'd imagine he'd opt-out of his final year. I mean, 170-190M guaranteed vs 31M...no-brainer

They are doing further testing today. It will be revealed as a full tear/rupture

From the video that Bob Dobalina posted in the other thread, I'd say that there's zero chance that it isn't a full rupture of the achilles. Sucks, but at least he can opt in to $30M next season and rehab in style.

The question for Durant is how will his speed and lift suffer from this. You can see in this series how diminished Cousins game is without his usual lift and first step. Wes Matthews was much slower when he came back.

He'll always be a great shooter, but his ability to drive from the 3-point line to get the open 18-footer isn't going to the weapon is used to be.

I am sure Greg Oden would have loved to have played in 850 games. Shit happens. (Too soon?)

With KD's height and skills just have him bulk up a little more and play him at PF.

I don't think he needs to bulk up to play PF in today's NBA. Nor would it be a good idea.

I’ll wait for an official report rather than relying on keyboard doctors.

I remember when everyone said CJ had a serious injury and would be out for months.

    But yeah, looks serious...

Hey, put up the billboard today and I’ll bet that you’re going to hear a lot more people honking twice than once.

Many of us thought his original "calf injury" was a partial Achilles rupture. I'm sticking with my keyboard diagnosis.
