Politics U.S. Intelligence Told Lawmakers of Russian Strategy to Boost Trump Re-Election

I love the idea of competing agencies in Russia promoting both sides in the election and effectively canceling each other out

Outgoing Obama insurgent Joseph Mcguire made this unsupportable claim on his way out the door to provide cover for the factual report by our intelligence agencies that Russia was successfully swinging the Dem primaries to get Bernie Sanders elected. Draining the swamp. Mcguire to begin his new career as a paid liar with MSNBC on the Rachel Maddow show.

The purposeful damage that Trump is doing to the American intelligence community, as a puppet of Russia, such as appointing Grenell to that position, is such that we will never know the extent of it. By the end of the year there will probably be more Russian spies in the CIA than not.

It amazes me that so many Republicans, who love a mighty military, don't see the irreparable damage taking place right in front of their fucking eyes. It amazes me.

There is a scene in 1984 where the chocolate ration is reduced. Next day newspapers report (fictional) story that there were demonstrations all over Oceania thanking Big Brother for increasing the chocolate ration. And people believed it. If you've ever wondered how that could be, read Maris' posts.

I am absolutely certain he would swear that Trump increased the chocolate ration.

Ditto...they act as if they are akin to the brainwashed Hitler youth.

Well some believe he is the second coming of Christ so I’m not surprised that they are ignorant to the nonsense occurring.

I think the Russians now realize they will get better results with Bernie in the Whitehouse.

Jeeze sly you couldnt of made that harder to read on a phone lol :)
why would the Russians advocate for low unemployment, decent economy, great stock market, decent interest rates and fewer regulations? They would get more out of a marxis for sure.

These Russia conspiracy theories are really getting out of hand. Anytime the Democrat establishment isn’t getting its way...Russia!

Trump is draining the swamp of American politicians and military who are in collusion with Russia, Iraq, China, Cuba, literally dozens of enemies, and also many more in collusion with corrupt officials in Austrailia, Italy, Ukraine, the UK, France, Germany...

No, he's draining the swamp of those who aren't in collusion with Russia and replacing them with those who are. This is quite obvious to anyone with their head outside of their butthole.

Referencing Sanders, Buttigieg said: “We can prioritize either ideological purity or inclusive victory“

Do you think Russia doesn't like less sanctions and less accountability under trump?

Anyone still believing that tired, old, completely exposed cover story probably missed Obama and his State Department refusing military aid of any kind to Ukraine as Putin rolled over and occupied Crimea in a bloody invasion, embarrassing America on a worldwide scale.

That's the opposite of reality. Talk about naivete and gullibility.

Far tougher sanctions, massive military aid to Ukraine and other Russian neighbors, opposition to Germany Russia pipeline, crippling Russian oil industry by boosting ours while putting sanctions on Russia n customers.

So Sanders is running on what they want and Pete’s a sellout. :)
I think his point was more Bernies Ideological (socialism) his way or the highway, versus trying to bridge gaps and be more inclusive, appeal to those that don't embrace Bernies platform.

They probably do for sure but they'd much rather have a guy like Bernie who embraced guys like Castro, Chavez & Maduro over the years.
I dont like Trump and wont vote for him, Im like Clint Eastwood, dont like his diplomacy at all, but Im still a capitalist/libertarian and will not support Bernie's platform.
I would vote for Pete or Amy but its not looking like they succeed.
Do you support Bernie at this juncture?

I'm not a Bernie fan myself, but the only reason Russia would interfere for Bernie is that trump thinks Bernie would insure a victory for him and not that Russia feels Bernie would help them.I don't know of Sanders embracing dictatorships but trump has been very obvious with his infatuation with dictators and his continual disdain for our long time allies.

The older I get the more I appreciate balance, in all things. I guess that why Im an independent now. In my mind both parties are leaning extreme which as Pete and Amy say "leave's out a whole bunch of people".

Well, they just had a primary in the most diverse state yet and Sanders won nearly half the votes despite so many other candidates. He did well among pretty much all the voting demographics, so maybe his "ideological purity" is more "inclusive" than Buttigieg would like to admit.

Thats fair but look at what the populist movement got us in Trump.

Populism isn't by itself good or evil. It depends on what emotions you're playing on to fuel your populism. In my opinion, Trump fed on both implicit and explicit racial fears and fear of immigrants as terrorists and job-stealers which is pretty dark populism to me. Sanders brand of populism is based on ensuring that everyone has access to pretty important things, like health care and higher education. You may not agree that everyone should have access to those things, but I personally find that a lot less dangerous and problematic when it comes to a populist movement.

Im for balance, I prefer a reasonable sized government with fiscal responsibility. I want a country that is built on capitalism and a progressive tax structure. I think we should have social assistance fro those in need and at the same time promote the benefits of working, creating jobs and prosperity from freedom of a mix economy. Rich should pay more, but also those that are lacking a drive to work and contribute they should be encouraged to become productive contributor. Growing up in the sixties I knew many young people that worked the system for welfare and food stamps and they were 100% able bodies, just lazy and wanted to party and be free of a job. I looked at it as using up funds that those in real need could use, but bad government management policies hardly ever address the importance of fiscal responsibilities and efficiencies.
I do not favor open borders but I do support immigration reform and legit refugees. However, I do not believe we should have an open door policy where we provide freebies to everyone who wants to come here.
Id like to see Bernie spend more time talking about how he wants to address the economy and pay for what he proposes.

Id disagree about Bernies brand of populism. His is just a different color then Trumps. He’s playing off of peoples fear and dislike of rich people, religious people, and people who disagree with him in a similar way that Trump did / does.

Appointing Grenell is actually illegal. The Director is required by law to be someone with experience.

I haven't seen anything anti-religion in Bernie's campaign, but then I haven't been looking for it either. What did I miss?
