When I drank I thought Alaskan Amber was as good as any Northwestern brew...I liked Guiness best as a sipping beer...black and tans...half guiness, half whatever cheap lager was around

Rogue, Ninkasi, and Deschutes are my top 3 Oregon breweries. Dead Guy, Tricerahops, and Mirror Pond, in no particular order.

10 Barrel is a close 4th place. They have grown on me.

I also drink PBR because it's basically as good as water.

Growing up my friends dad stocked BBP in his fridge and nothing else. Drank it out of desperation, been a dark/hoppy Brew fan ever since.

I like the browns/darks/porters and stouts. I’ve never been a huge fan of really hoppy IPAs and such. I use a lot of dark beers for my cooking needs, use them in place of wine.

I also drink shittier domestic light beers when I’m drinking more. Like camping/fishing trips, etc. it’s easier to just grab a couple 30 racks and be done with it. My go-to shitty beers are Coors light, Busch light and Keystone light. Keystone gets a bad rap but it’s really not bad, and it comes in 15 packs.

Rolling Rock is nuclear waste and should be banned for human consumption.

Alaskan Amber one of my favs.

Billings eh?

I’m headed to the Crow Reservation to just south of there to fish as we speak.
Love Billings....I went there 6-8 times a year during y working days. Got to know many great restaurants and bars.
Loved those gals in tight colorful wranglers.
I was there during their centennial celebration and got to se Hoyt Axton.
Watched many Blazer games at the Billings Club of which Danny Ainge owned a piece of.

Dead guy easily makes my top 3. That shit is legendary.

I actually prefer Double Dead Guy. Whenever I get to Newport, I stop in @ Rogue...as well as Local Ocean restaurant. One of THE best restaurants on the Oregon Coast, IMO.

For some reason the pubs on the Oregon Coast seem to have some sort of “blanket” deal with Rogue (or something). Virtually every dive pub over there has it on tap for incredibly cheap (compared to valley pubs anyway). I’ve spent many a happy hour (whether it was Happy Hour or not) swilling Dead Guy (Most of the time at the Sportman’s Pub in Pacific City) on a very regular basis. Great stuff! I wish I could still drink like I used to.....but then, that may be why I can’t really drink now.....it’s a conundrum....

On a side note....3 years ago I was in a New Orleans pub/bar waiting for @BLAZINGGIANTS to arrive and I noticed a Dead Guy tap (??). The bartender said they only got a keg or two a month but that it was extremely popular with a group of regulars. He also said they were trying to keep its’ popularity on the down low until they could convince the distributor that they could indeed sell a larger quantity if it was available. The guy said it was extremely hard to get down there.....
