Remember how much the Right loves to stroll about the military at every chance to glorify them? And how any criticism of the military meant you hated the troops/America?

What happened to conservatives? They've sold their souls.

I especially enjoyed all the heart wrenching footage from Democrat-started wars.

Oh well in that case, I guess Donald Trump was right about John McCain and other POWs.

Not sure I'm happy that the conservatives behind the Lincoln Project are being accepted into the Democratic party.. but I'm not a member of the Democratic party anyways so I guess I shouldn't care too much.

I think the people behind the LP are pretty much just petty cry babies who are upset that Trump didn't let them into his party. I just enjoy that they're doing some pretty good smears against the Orange Buffoon.

I do hope ads like this convince some Republicans of something. I just fear we're past the point where they care anymore, even about war heroes.

They've, for the most part, sold their souls. They are hopefully going to die off with their generation, and the younger people will wake up and realize that the people in charge right now are in it to make money for themselves. And the people who are following this shit, are still convinced that this is all "gods plans".

And then you have the few who claim they're moral people but are acting like they are perfectly fine with an immoral person like DJT, because they get a chance to "own the libs". Those people are the biggest losers of the bunch too.

I had an uncle in the Bataan Death March. He wouldn't allow rice in the house and slept with a loaded pistol under his pillow.

Trump declared himself a "wartime president". I guess this video illustrates brilliantly his Laissez-faire attitude at American deaths.

I used the term Laissez-faire because it is french, thus associated with surrender during war, something Trump clearly has done with this war.

FDR was a Democrat. Iraq may be the only exception in that video.
Sorry, but FDR did not “start” the war. He simply responded to Japanese aggression (with the full support of the American people). Germany then declared was on America, not the other way around. Had you been alive then, what would your feelings have been in that instance? Would you have advocated speaking Japanese and/or German? And the country (especially the “patriots”) had absolutely NO problem invading Iraq despite them having NO involvement in 9/11.....and the “evidence” for war being completely made up out of whole cloth. It takes an entire congress (theoretically) to go to war, not just the Democratic side of it. Just sayin’.............

I'm just happy that Trump is making great efforts to bring our guys home, while also eliminating the guys who enjoy turning our troops into prisoners and/or corpses.

They mentioned Afghanistan.

But regardless of who started the wars, what does that have to do with Trump saying he didn't consider POW's heroes?

Try to stay on target there.

Trump does have odd ways of saying things sometimes. I think what he was implying was that he likes (would rather see) war heroes that weren't sent to these places to BE captured/maimed/murdered.

One of the reasons, I believe, he's taking strong efforts to get our guys out of harm's way and back HOME where they belong.

No, he wasn’t. One of many stupid off the cuff comments from the orange person.

Doesn’t change the fact that that video becomes sort of ridiculous when viewed under the context of how these wars started in the first place.

Well, not really, since no one talked about how the wars were started, but that how he was treating a POW. How the wars started (or who started them) had zero bearing on the content of the video, nor doe sit play any role in how one should interpret them.

Now, had they said "trump and republicans started all these wars" you might have a point worth fighting for. but now you just come off as someone who refuses to admit they tried to bring up something that really doesn't have anything to do with the thread NOR has anything to do with the content in the video.

The Nazi party had huge support in the US before
WWII amongst conservatives...they even held a rally in Madison Square Garden promoting Aryan supremacy attended by big money New Yorkers...Fred Trump was one...there were a lot of americans who were German sympathizers before that war....but sure...blame the dems for helping stop that genocide

You've heard wrong. It was Joe Bidens father who was personally responsible for bringing the Nazi's here along with Ted Cruz's dad.

Glad you could respond to my post. Probably yet another nothingburger in your estimation. Hence, the crickets. But, hey, I would expect nothing less from you.

Of course it wasn’t the intended context. The intended context was “look at these dead bodies and emotional music for a minute straight, Trump is bad”.

It only becomes interesting when one applies factual historical context.

The message I get is “Look at all these dead bodies and pretend the party were asking you to vote for had nothing to do with it”.

That says more about you than anything, since the ad is about how he disrespected a POW, and historically POW's are considered heroes and had to put up with a lot of death and violence.

Trump was in a pissing match with John McCain and that’s who he was referring to. He doesn’t have some strange personal vendetta against POWs as a whole. But his comment was stupid, in poor taste and poorly thought out, yes.

But you know what else is?

Exploiting images of death and violence to hammer home a barely related political message. That’s all this ad was. If the assholes they are begging us to vote for gave a fuck about POWs they wouldn’t have started all those wars that fucked them up in the first place. Nor would they be continuing to clamor for war every chance they get.

Fuck this shitty ad. It’s a cheap exploitation of people they are only pretending to give a shit about. It’s political theatre. Not buying it. Go fish.

For starters...advertising agencies didn't start all these wars and people who work in them might actually give a fuck about POWs....what you're saying is you don't want to hear about it because...Trump vs John McCain.....and ignore things like arms dealers and the lobby they have to profit from war.....yeah...let's make it about a hollywood film crew

The mental gymnastics you do to justify defending trump is pretty incredible.

Really? FDR was a Democrat? Well, knock me over with a feather.
Maybe, just maybe I meant something different and expected you'd pick up on it.
