Nothing of substance can or will be done until we boot the two current parties out of our government. Not sure Biden is the answer to any “green” problems. He’ll basically be a mannequin for corporate interests Like he’s always been. We already know where Trump stands.

If nothing can be done until we boot the two current parties, then how do we do that? More importantly, how do we actually do it soon, so that we can avoid impending climate disaster?

if you're legitimately interested, i'd look into what trump has done about the paris agreement. and how many environmental regulations he has removed, and how many climatologists he has fired at the NSF. this administration has done irreparable damage to the environment.

it's a fucking disaster that acceptance of climate change and mitigating it is a political issue. but here we are.

what can biden do? undoing that damage will take a full term.

Why wont the left get this? When they lose in nov. im gonna laugh my ass off at some of these people going completely insane because they just think they know it all and cant undersrand why their candidate didnt get elected.

There are gonna be alot of lefties going crazy come nov. and ill be there to say you coulda had my vote if you wouldn't have thrown a two year tantrum and actually came up with plans for the future...that doesnt include a complete evolution to socialism.

trump is not a uniting president but people have no one to blame for their actions but themselves.

Violence, name calling, etc will not win the swing votes.

But instead of listening to this common sense strive for a constructive convo, they just prefer to bash and demean and degrade...

I think we gonna see many "climate refugees" this century around the world. Some areas around the world will be uninhabitable, where it's dangerous for a human to live because it's too damn hot

Since my wife has been working in the Energy sector for a while and we have a bit of understanding of energy consumption and the systems that produce and consume it - I would say that it makes a lot more sense than the current 'let them eat cake' plan and roll-back regulations policy of the current administration.

Anyone that thinks that 1 presidential term is going to magically fix the problem is out of their mind, but we are decades too late already in dealing with it - so anything that does not work to mitigate the problem (as the current administration tries to roll back measures) is just accelerating the problem.

Well, yes, actually trying to fix the situation is always going to be better than actively trying to make it worse.

My real question in this thread is what is the strategy of the left going to be if Biden is elected and nothing substantive changes? His "radical agenda" is to get to net-zero omissions in 30 years. I'm just not seeing a way forward on this.

I guess the real question is - how do you measure 'substantive changes'?

My guess is that for the Biden administration (and likely a couple of administrations after) it should be measured by policy scrutinized by scientific climate experts and investment in solutions.

For me, the problem with debating you is that you want us to believe you are open to changing your mind, but I think that is just a ruse. Sorry. IMO you would have more success if you dropped the whole 'tell me why I'm wrong/ teach me something new' routine.

Just come out and say your for Trump, and why, and back it up with facts and we can have real, true, and fun debate!

but im sorry your assumptions are not correct. I find Trump to be a vile ugly person. Im not a Trumper. Im a conservative.
I do believe in cleaning the swamp though and Trump is the one who pushed that.
It needs draining on both sides. Im sure he only tries to drain what wont negatively impact him and thats not right, but its a start.

Im still not sure how im going to vote and ive never been so undecided in the past. I have no hope in either candidate.
But i stand by my conservative principles which keeps me leaning republican.


I want my mind changed based on ideals. Maybe you are right. Maybe nothing can change my mond but im honestly asking.

The last time i did all i got was, if you dont know why you shouldnt vote for trump your an idiot or lost or whatever. Nothing tangible, real, or factual. No policies or plans for the future other than full on socialism which i am vehemently against.
