240,000+ Americans have died from Trump's inability to act on what matters - I wonder how many more Americans and innocent people would die because he is in a hurry to leave these areas for terrorist organizations without ensuring there is a proper structure behind to oppose them. Sad.

I am projecting to the end of his term + whatever it takes to tail it off until responsible government can properly implement measures against it. There is a good chance it is an under-estimate.

Let's take Canada which dealt with this a lot more reasonably, with a 1/3 of the deaths per capita of the USA - at this point we would have had 80,000 deaths instead of 240,000 - if this article's estimate of 400K by the end of the year, the difference between the USA and Canada would have been 250K+ - just around my estimate.

@MARIS61 believes it's nothing more than a flu, but 250 million people would have died if anyone else had been President, so Trump saved over 249 million people.

And the ~quarter of a million people who died are just fake numbers anyway. And anyone who did die (which is probably no one, since it went away like magic) are just suckers and losers anyway.

One of the few funny things about Trump's presidency is watching his supporters try to mangle all his contradictory lies into one incoherent narrative.
 
I hope this doesn't cause unrest in the East.

His handling of the situation and his message to those who actually believe whatever he says has cost at least 100k more than needed to. Is that a more tolerable number for you?

POTUS TRUMP'S quick action taken to restrict travel from China in January likely saved over 2 Million American lives, according to Dr. Fauci.

Under POTUS TRUMP'S orders dating back to 2017, our military has been preparing for a safe, orderly, nearly total withdrawal of troops from the Middle East.

Unless some Deep State Generals disobeyed the Commander in Chief, we're in good shape.

CDC says only 6% (15,000) of those died from COVID-19.

The other 94% (235,000) died of other causes as they would have anyway, with no evidence that COVID-19 played any part in their deaths.

They simply tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies after death.

Unless Canada was the same size as the US both geographically and population size, density and ethnic diversity, and was located in the same temperate zone, and had the same number of airports and the same level of international and domestic travel... and was a Free country with a Constitution that forbids government from interference of a number of individual, inalienable rights.
For a comparison of Canada's response, Russia is a far more accurate and scientific candidate.
For a comparison of the US response, which by law is controlled by each of the 50 states, and not by the President, Europe is a reasonable candidate.

Certainly most of them. Many countries have far lower death counts just by following the advice of epidemiologist... He was ill prepared before it hit, and fought epidemiologists from the start, while actively undermining states who tried to heed said advice.

Yes. I'm perfectly comfortable with blaming at least 250k of deaths to date on Trump.

Sorry, but the federal government has the power to enforce a quarantine during a pandemic.

The same way they have the power to punish you for threatening the president even though you have freedom of speech.

Sometimes the greater good is more important than your individual rights.

The US is at 260k+ deaths. Actual excess mortality is over 350k.

If anyone other than Trump were president and had taken the same actions Trump has taken the deaths would be that person's fault too.

Just like every other leader who has had a high covid-19 death rate without expansive testing and tracing or listening to epidemiologists is at fault for their deaths.

The US is literally in the top 10 for worse covid-19 death rates in the world. With the largest budget and best technology the world has ever seen.

Taiwan, South Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Finland, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Laos.

Many have had open travel with China throughout the pandemic and had cases a month earlier than we did.

All have less than 70 deaths per million population. Many of them have fewer than 20 deaths per million.

The US has 789 deaths per million population.
