Im all for Trans rights however Im not sure I agree with biological males competing against women and/or girls in sports. As a male if take performance enhancing drugs you are disqualified at most levels.
If I can be convinced there is zero advantage then I would be fine with it?

LeBron has a clear biological advantage over me for playing in the NBA. Id like all people that tall and athletic disallowed so that I can compete more fairly.

If you are going to mix sports and genders.....I don't think it's an even playing field.....how will you address boxing? Will a transgendered male be punching a female in the face? That won't end well...no matter how the athlete self identifies...should a transgendered male take a job from an WNBA player because they are 7' tall and can dunk the ball? China got busted for using males in female sporting events in Olympic competition if I remember correctly....

No, never.

But that may very well be because I see it as an issue of sex (male or female), rather than gender.

What's there to learn on this particular subject? I mean, really? Trans (former) females competing in most sports against men is ludicrous. Now, if it's chess, then I get it. ;)

Speaking of 9-dimensional chess, should trans Trump fans be allowed to participate in violent insurrections, @ABM ?

Like I said if someone can show me there is zero advantage Im all for it! Im all for transgender rights, but I ask you do they have an advantage?

Remember, hate the behavior, not the person.
when it comes to genocide, torture or rape I can multi task my hate...remembering it has nothing to do with it...I'm not the Dalai Lama

The question is do they have an advantage?

I'm all for ______rights but also take into consideration physiology and hormonal conditions....as I said...do you think a 7ft muscle bound transgendered former male should get in a boxing ring with a female boxer and trade punches? Personally I don't....and it's not cultural..it's physiological....I understand hormone therapy tries to counter that somewhat but in sports...testosterone is an advantage.

Do you feel that you have an advantage in anybsport over all women, just by being a guy?
Im 70's year old now but when I was playing college baseball I would have been all for a lady being on the team if should could make the cut.
There are tremendous women athletes and I watch all the women sports and enjoy it immensely.
Again, do you think a bio male would have an advantage in women's sports.
There are many women that do think so, are they wrong?

Any way someone dices this up, the female brain is completely different than males under emotional situations, conversation, cognitive deduction, intuition, and most of all raising children. For a trans role in sports, I agree with Riv that testosterone places males into strength advantage. I had seen woman body builders and that is something I can't get used to at all.

All people's brains are different. Seems weird to lump it as male versus female.
And I don't think anyone needs you to get used to female bodybuilders. Unsure of the point you're trying to make.

I am close to your age. I'll be 68 in March. My wife of 44 years says that women are completely and utterly different. I know, as her guilt trip tossed on me after a disagreement always works to her advantage.

Is the 7 foot muscle bound person in the same weight class as the female boxer? Seems like a stretch to take an extreme physical freak as a reason Trans can't compete.
Put the 7 foot muscle bound person in against a much smaller male and there is a disadvantage also.

The world we now live in has become a minefield of extremes. Too many people are pushing the bounderies of their rights, without wanting bounderies placed on their responsibilities.

An example.

I support the right/freedom of all people of legal age to drink alcohol, if they choose to. If I was "all in" on that right, I would support their right to be drunk all of the time including when a pilot flys a commercial passanger airplane when drunk. That would be irresponsible both on the pilots part, and my part for supporting them.

My point is, too many special interest groups with agendas are going too far with their rights agendas, while refusing any responsibility for their actions. This includes many special interest agendas including the one in the op.

I support trans gender rights, within responsible limits. But I refuse to be bullied into supporting irresponsible behavior. Anyone that tries to bully another into supporting irresponsible behavior has gone too far, and has a very weak case.

From my perspective, as a man married for decades, women approach, respond and solve situations differently than men. It's not lumping; it's hormones vs testosterone. No one; needs me; to get used to female body builders. Female bodybuilders are not natural or look acceptable in my book. It' MY opinion.

No bodybuilder looks "natural". Just seems like an odd opinion to insert into the discussion.
