If every player in the league had to return to the team that drafted him…

I mean just for this year I think Kyrie, Garland, Wiggins, LeBron, Mobley with Sexton, Joe Harris, Danny Green, Jae Crowder and Tristan Thompson coming off the bench seems like a pretty hard rotation to beat. That's leaving out Tyus Jones and Okoro who are both quality backups. With all of the guys that like to get shots up maybe Jones would be better in the rotation than Sexton.

Solid AF

I agree about Lakers, Pels, and GS. Not sure I’d believe in OKC. Blazers wouldn’t be terrible with CJ, Trent Jr, Pat C, and Will Barton coming home. Meyers would be our starting C though.

Cool topic.

I think NO would be decent.

Chris Paul, Zion, AD

Lakers too.

Lonzo, Russell, Ingram, Kuzma, Zubac, Hart

Lakers would also have Caruso, Clarkson, Randle, Nance. They certainly would be the deepest team, if not the outright best.

Equally amazing they now have none of these players.

well, since Blazers drafted CJ, Blazers had traded away 4 of 7 first round picks for almost nothing. And that doesn't include the disaster in 2017
2 for Covington, 1 for Nance, what was the other one?

I wasn't counting the one for Nance, yet

one was the 2016 draft when Portland traded the 19th pick for Afflalo

the 2014 draft was the 24th pick that was the final piece of the Greald Wallace trade. So that was part of the down-payment on Dame so it was well spent. Ironically, the pick was used on Shabazz Napier

I feel like we'd be in the top 7 or so. How is that shitty?

Dame cj batum aldridge trent simons is not nothing.
Not sure if your serious or sarcastic.

It's not 2018. Aldridge is washed. Batum is a bit role player. Trent and Simons are fine but that's a team with 4 offensive guards and no defense. I'd rank it among the bottom 7.

did the OP say anything at all about how those players are now? i assumed we were talking about peaks for each player

If we change the title to, "If every player in the league had to return to the team that grafted him," then the Blazers would clearly rank #1 with all their bandaged up big men.

I wonder how much Sean Kemp weighs now (not as much as Zion Williamson?)

…Which team would be the best in the league? Undrafted players would return to first team that signed them.

So would players that were drafted and traded draft night be returned to the team they were originally drafted by or to team that traded for them draft night. For instance Josh Hart was drafted by the Jazz but traded draft night to the Lakers.

Alot of players, maybe even a majority in the league were drafted by one team but traded to another draft night or right after and never played for the team that drafted them.
