None of us do. We see that his shot goes in from just about anywhere. We see that he has a really nice handle for a guy his size. We see that he jumps out of the gym. He showed some really nice defense in his workout but we haven't seen anything on that side of the ball since then. The fact is he has everything you could ask for but does he have the ability to put them together, does he have the ability to see the game on both ends and does he have the attitude to maximize all of those things he has.

His skills and his body are generational but his head is the thing we haven't seen. I think he'll have a learning curve but not much different than any rookie. If he's close to as gifted with BBIQ as he is physically and with skills then he'll compete with Josh and Nas to start at SF. I don't think him getting that spot before the allstar break is unrealistic but it's also not unrealistic that he sees very little of the court all season. One good thing is that we don't have Stotts keeping him off the court for no other reason than the fact that he's a rookie. I think if he's ready, Chauncey will put him out there.

He’s got Dame, as has Ant and Nas.

    Exciting times ahead!

I’ll bet he scores 20 in his very first regular season game - I think he’s got Kobe blood

There isn't much data to back up the claim that Stotts held back young players. If that were the case, we'd have a bunch of examples of young guys leaving Portland and turning into significantly better players than they were here.

Like PatCon, GT2 and Ant as soon as Terry was gone?

I absolutely agree that Sharpe has Superstar potential. Believe me, I see it too and agree it's all about his effort he has all the tools. I am blown away by all the ways he can score from seemingly anywhere. He uses the backboard and has absolutely breathtaking body control at times along with freakish athleticism. I'm beyond stoked we got him and my god if he can play defense as was hinted at in the film they showed? Seriously, if he can put it all together and Ant continues to grow and learns to defend to at least a decent degree then I can see us competing for a championship as Dame enters a CP3-like aging Superstar stage where he's more about passing and spot up shooting while Ant and Sharpe are peaking and using their athleticism to dominate. It's a beautiful vision and I also think it's very possible. I think we won the draft and time will show he should have gone #1 overall and people will wonder why that wasn't obvious.

Here is Pat's Career Per/36. If you think that's a significant jump, I don't know what to tell you.

Here is Trent the year he got traded. Points slightly up, shooting percentages down.

If those are the best examples over 8 years, I think you made my point for me. Thank you.

Thanks for using per 36 numbers when the complaint about Stotts is he didn't give these guys playing time.

He's played PF the vast majority of his career. I'm sure there's a reason.

That is my comp. With a smoother jumper. If he can learn to defend like prime PG, we landed something very very special!

Seems a bit faster than BRoy and less of the power moves Roy made. FWIW, didn't Roy score 22 points or something like that in his first game? Of course, he started and was a 4 year college grad...

I'm not saying he can't. Just that he's played PF for like 70-80% of the minutes he's played in the NBA.
