Seems a lot of people are feeling like me, that the weekend was a pretty much a farce.

The only thing I enjoyed was the three point contest. The one on one between Steph and Sabrina was also great. I'm including both in the categories, because I don't think anyone would enjoy one and not the other.

Aside from Dame getting the MVP, which I found cool for him, the game itself was ridiculous... like a circus.
I can go to Barnum and Baileys for that type of shit. Circus Circus has more entertainment value to me.

Even the rising stars game was a joke with the exception of the G-league team, who actually played defense and tried to compete. I give them props for that and I was rooting fore them simply because they were giving actual effort.

So I am curious about the numbers of who enjoyed what, etc. What say you? Did you enjoy any, a part of, or all of this last weekend?

Please explain why you voted for what. I think the responses will be mostly the same, but curious if you enjoyed or didn't enjoy something, what the reasoning was.

I hope Sharpe can be in dunk contest next year. That event is failing miserably. Everyone did push off dunks. Shaedon doesn't need no gimmicks.

If you went to see Starship Troopers 2 expecting it to be as good as Godfather 2….. well you’re gonna be disappointed. If you expect our Blazers this season to win 60 games, well you’re gonna be disappointed.
If anyone ever expects to watch an allstar weekend and see a quality product out there, well………

I voted for 'I could care less and didn't watch' but the truth is I couldn't care less and didn't watch.

barfo

Feel free to fix. My bad. Though I think you could only care enough to post what you did, but couldn't care less about fixing it. :)

That's why I don't watch.

I don't have cable, so I didn't enjoy the fact that the NBA apparently isn't significant enough for ABC to bother broadcasting the ASG. OTOH, I found that "TNT Overtime" was streamed over NBA League Pass so I watched that. It was kind of bizarre in that there was just one camera fixed above one backboard, but I kind of liked it in that it felt more like an arena experience where you just see the game from your seat. I also enjoyed the fact that they didn't include the audio from the broadcast. All you could hear was the arena announcer saying who had just hit a shot. Again, more like the actual arena experience.

The NBA needs to lose all of the fluff that they built into the breaks between quarters. I thought it really disrupted the game.

Same, but not by choice. Wanted Sabrina to win.

Haven't watched an all star festivity since Dame was in all of them. They don't matter.

People need to realize none of it matters.

The NBA is all about Marketing the Players then the game. Add in a little entertainment / musical talent & TNT talent?

Think Portland will ever Host an NBA ASG?.......I doubt it in my life time?

+ Skills contest (Edwards shooting left handed was annoying but the All-Stars competing against the Pacers was fun, they definitely tried hard in the passing portion)
+ 3P contest (always great)
+ Curry vs. Sabrina (better than expected but repetitive--it's like the same event twice in a row)
+ TNT crew banter
+ Scottie Barnes being joyous all weekend

- Rising Stars/Celebrity games (filler events)
- Dunk contest (Little Mac was great but we got the best of him last year, plus the NBA's failure to attract the best talent)
- All-Star game (like watching warm-ups)
- Long broadcasts
- Kenny Smith being a pain in the ass
- Felt like they didn't make the most of their gimmicky court

HORSE between 2-4 big stars seems like such an obvious add but they can't figure it out.

I watched all of it. Made me realize I’m still a big Dame fan. I REALLY wanted to win 3 point contest and MVP and was very happy when he did. Also, the halfcourt shots were cool. Scoot played well. I wish Shaedon could’ve played. All in all, better than last year.

Didn't watch any.

Didn't care.

After looking at a couple of the articles about the whole weekend, will continue my absolute lack of interest in AS weekend for the foreseeable future.

The actual "game" has been a joke for a long time. It it unwatchable. It's actually stupid.

The 3-pt contest is the only part of the whole thing that has any suspense and skill involved. It's always fun to watch. But that's it.

It was great when you had MJ, Bird, Magic, Clyde, and the old guard.

But guys just don't seem to play like that anymore.

I thought the Rising Stars Challenge was okay. Found myself rooting for the G-League Ignite, after Scoot's team got knocked out obviously.

I think I'd like the 3 point contest if not for all the stupid bonus balls and stuff. Why can't it be just how many balls you make, like it is in reality?

The dunk contest couldn't be more boring, wow.

I think the attitude in the main game is indicative of the NBA as a whole now. Seems like overall players could give a fuck.

Maybe the most insane thing about the All-Star weekend is that it doesn't just rotate on a 30 year cycle or something like that (30 years seems like a long time, but you get the idea). The NBA should be promoting every city and every city should be proud to host. They could incorporate the home team and do all this cool shit. Instead, it's in one of the most dystopian cities in the world that doesn't even have a team.

Rereading what I wrote, it appears I'm feeling pretty negative about the whole thing, but as a great man once said, "You're not wrong, [insert my name]. You're just an asshole."
