The fact is the season is falling apart

Hey at least they'll keep the 1st rounder in the 12-15 range if they miss out. A plus right! :)

Rangers have had 1 top 5 pick in 20 freaking years. Pavel Brendl (ugh).

The team has been remarkably consistently decent to mediocre sprinkling in a great season. It pays to tank long term

Let's not forget the great Montoya pick. I believe that was #6 overall. Not top 5 but 1 removed.

i love how people say trade this guy trade that guy wtf sather your stupid, this isn't nhl 14, nobody wants stalman or boyle or dorsett, and if they do we are getting garbage in return, who the fuck is going to replace boyle at the trade deadline and do better then him, boyle plays the PK wins faceoffs tries to create 4th line chances, NOBODY is going to trade for boyle and give something good to replace what he does. they got to learn system learn teamates etc etc AT the trade deadline, its one thing to trade in the off season and have training camp to start fresh but we are going to get a 4th liner for 4th liner trade and chances are that 4th liner isn't going to be better then boyle. delusional people

When it comes to giving Boyle his due, you're beating your head against the wall on this site. Most don't want to hear it, because Boyle (a 4th line center) is the reason the Rangers are struggling. Is he great? No. Is he a hard worker every time he steps on the ice? Yes. He has to be, otherwise he'd be gone. I'd like to see what Nash could do if he worked as hard as Boyle.

Dis, even in hindsight, who would you have picked in that draft? look at those drafted after him:

Tim Connolly
Brian Finley
Kris Beech
Taylor Pyatt
Branizlav Mezei
Oleg Saprykin
Denis Shvidki
Jani Rita
Jeff Jillson
Scott Kelman

Add Lundmark to that and you have the top15 draftees that year. In general terms that draft SUCKED. It's not like the '03 draft where we drafted Jessiman and every other pick in the 1st round had successful NHL careers. How the F do you mess that one up?

Let's not forget the great Montoya pick. I believe that was #6 overall. Not top 5 but 1 removed.

Similarly to the Brendl pick, who would you have gotten instead of Montoya?

Between Montoya and our next pick in that round (Korpi) these were the players drafted:

Olesz
Picard
Smid
Valabik
Tukonen
Thelen
Stafford
Dubnyk
Radulov
Nokelainen
Schwartz
Chipchua

That's a pretty sad list, so it's not like we screwed that pick up with lots of NHL talent available. Radulov is probably the best talent but we would have lost on him altogether once he got back to Russia. Stafford is the only other solid NHLer on that list.

We love to complain about all these bust picks, but don't seem to look at the entire draft to see the entire list of busts that came out of that year.

Yep 31- It's also about having the RIGHT picks in the RIGHT draft. Like we used to argue with that dope DDD, the Pens had the #2 pick in the same draft that Ovechkin was in. Guess what, you are getting Malkin or Ovechkin if you are picking 1 or 2.

Not only do the Rangers not get many top 5 picks, as luck would have it the one draft they do have a top 5 pick in the top end talent in the entire draft were busts.

Life as a Ranger fan....
