So he got pretty much the same deal he would have had here had he not opted out? Couldn't even get a 2 year deal and ended up in a much worse situation, i guess being greedy doesn't always work out well.

Oops, can a mod fix "fired", please.

I think the team wanted him to opt out. Granted we can't force him, but with mos relationship with Olshey I don't think he would have considered not opting out for the money. I think he was always looking for roughly the same deal he had here.

This shit is HILARIOUS. That's what you get Mo. Steve Blake will do a much better job than you at orchestrating the offense.

How bad do you have to SUCK at Defense to be worse than Steve Blake?

Re: OTish: Mo Williams should probably fired his agent (Minnesota)

He opted out and got an extra million dollars for it. Why should he fire his agent, exactly?

He wanted a multiple year deal, he's going to be a year older and in the same situation next summer.

I believe we could have signed him for 3.15 MIL and he is getting 3.75 MIL according to reports. So an upgrade but he always said it was about length of contract vs money in the first year.

Mo was a great teammate and was a great friend and mentor to Lillard. I wish him nothing but success and happiness in Minnesota. I will never understand the hate for the guy. The season before last the Blazers had some of the worst backup point guards I have ever seen play. Mo came exactly as advertised. It's like some of you had never seen him play or knew anything about him. He won some games for us and was part of the most successful Blazer team in years!

The exact same thing happened with Crawford. I remember HCP saying it before the season and people knocking him, about Crawford being a chucker. Mo was Mo, for the most part.

He wanted a multi year deal, and there very likely was not one for him. So instead of staying here, he opted out and got an extra million dollars. I guess I'm missing, again, why his agent should be fired for getting him an extra million dollars for this upcoming season.

So the Blazers got outbid AGAIN!

Darn it. ;)

So if Mo wanted a five-year deal for $10mill/year then he would have a really bad agent? It was never about what Mo wanted, it was about what he was worth. Agents can't get you a deal for more than you are worth when you sit at the bottom of the NBA food chain.

Adios, Mo. I can't imagine how bad the bench would have been last year without him, but I won't miss watching Mo play hero ball when the other benchies aren't making shots.

Because we don't like Minnesota.

my gut feeling is the Blazers didn't want him back. Not for any personal reason, just because he was not as good of a fit in Stotts' system as a guy like Blake. My guess is they wanted more of a "pure" point guard.

Whatever, at least he will be helping Minny get a better draft pick with their 1st round pick that likes throwing things at his dog's penis instead of on our team next year.

I never had a problem with Mo and agree with you here Sly. He put us back into many games that we came back to win in the 4th qtr. I wish Mo well. He'll get more minutes in Minnesota than he would here.

Who can blame him for wanting to play with Kevin Love?

another ex blazer going to minnesota. they never stop.

are you saying the Trail Blazers aren't a classy organization?

How does that mean his latest tweet talks about Portland? He tweeted that he's going to a classy organization "minny". It has no relevance on his previous team "Portland".

Good for Mo, and good for us for not bringing him back.

I hate Blake's game almost as much as I hated Mo's game before he came here, but Steve is most definitely a better fit for our second unit. Blake plays slightly better d and actually passes the ball-- he's not as good of a scorer on his own, but that role should be filled by CJ/Willy this season. I don't think we'll miss Mo at all.

Now how about we get something of value for Wright/Vic/Joel/Leonard?

Try reading it again, he explicitly ("1/2," "2/2" etc) broke it up into two tweets to account for the 140 character limit.

I want to say thanks to all the fans, coaches n staff in #ripcity. I been a fun n successful yr n I will always be grateful for the opportunity to play for such a classy organization. Thx
