Is this yet another season where he passes up wide open lanes for a pass? He's really frustrating to watch.

I'm sick of Batum and he's ridiculous passes. He plays like he's just messing around rather than trying to win an NBA game. And he's slated to get 12 million next year.

His entire game comes down to the fact he's soft and/or passive

Basically my least favorite kind of player. Give me Wesley's heart all day long.

so hes a favorite of yours, just the least of em. so you really do like him. :ghoti:

too early to start this dude. Game 3 of 82.

Really? You are going to start a thread to show that a player has had a few bad games?
I would have thought you would have gone after Lillard? He was 4-18 tonight you know?

Maybe if Batum wasn't a career 15 PER player....

I just don't get the people that think he's a special/unique player. He's really not.

Decent little role player that's better than that when his shot is actually falling, but after that, just too damn passive, soft and inconsistent.

I guess.... But making an entire thread to bash the guy for having a couple bad games seems a little tiresome.

It feels like Year 3 of 82. When his fans say, he's still young, it makes me feel even sicker. This affliction will go on for many more years unless fans wake up.

There is a causal connection. The one causes the other. Batum is the playmaker on half the possessions, taking Lillard out of the game mentally.

Just as Aldridge refuses to either play Center or be an orthodox PF, Batum refuses to be an orthodox SF, dissipating his energies on trying to steal Lillard's job.

Question for my Blazer brethren: have any of the starters added to their games since last season? I've only caught bits and pieces of the first 3 games, but I see no added tools from any of them. In the case of Batum, it's pretty inexcusable he hasn't developed a post game.

I'd be VERY happy to have the same level of play and a better bench, but Lillard and Nic "so far" have been pretty awful, when 2 of 5 starters are this off it makes it tough

The team looked terrible for the 1st 4 games or so last season too. Something about Stotts' pre-season prep doesn't lend itself to a team being ready to go early. Not saying it's a "fire Stotts" situation even remotely, but there is a pattern.

Hate Batum and love Wes all you want. If it comes down to being able to keep one, it will be Nic every time.

Do you think he's worth that contract he got? If not Batum, who would be a good fit at the 3 for Portland that would be a realistic option. Surely Will Barton or Wright are not starters in this league.

What's scary Kev, is he is going to want MORE as he watches his teammates cash in. My question for Nic, is he willing to what he doesn't want to do to cash in?

Not sold its about ability but more on what's good for Nic.

Hard to imagine Portland resigning him after '15-'16.

Why would he accept less? :)

He's going to want more? And if you want to know the truth he will be a better player then than what he was he signed his extension.

Well, he's I think he's probably going to get a contract similar to Chandler Parsons. The cap space will make them at least think about it.

My concern is sooner than later we are going hear the fatigue word with him and that's when I think I will come unglued.

I am more concerned with Lillard than any other player. It sucks Batum isn't doing well, but I think our wings rely on the attention Lillard gets to be effective. When Lillard isn't demanding attention, teams won't have to double him on the perimeter. Until Lillard gets out of this funk, we are a mediocre team

I am too. Jabari Young made an interesting point. How will Damian respond to all that's happened to him in the last 6 months. Will he let it all go to his head etc? Well, we are three games with him struggling.
