My #1 target would be Draymond Green.

Based on his defense alone he's worth a max deal.

“Draymond Green is the poster boy for the defensive superstar who is making contributions that are on par with offensive superstars that we easily recognize,” said Steve Ilardi, one of the architects of RPM.

Draymond Green helped will the Warriors to a comeback from 20-point fourth-quarter deficit in their 123-117 Game 3 overtime win Thursday night in New Orleans, posting 12 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block before fouling out. Still, many on social media continued to scoff at the idea Green is deserving of a max contract as a restricted free agent this summer. Those people don’t get it.

He turned into what I hoped Nic would turn into. He's more than just a 3/D guy, every title team needs a player like Green.

Really good player, but not a max guy, IMO.

I have actually been saying the same thing for quite sometime. I don't think there's anyway the Blazers end up with him but I do hope another team offers him the max so Golden State loses him. He's terrific and I would do almost anything (Outside of LMA/Damian) to get him. He's a huge difference maker on both sides of the court.

Green is not a max guy and we'd be stupid to give him a max contract

what level MAX would Green get? I believe it starts at 15-16 mil for him 14-15 mil per for him and IMO he is worth it, hell Nic gets 12 and if you think about the huge increase in the Cap the following summer a Max for Green might seem cheap. Green can guard 4 spots and his offense while not great is better than Nics and he has a MOTOR every night and is PHYSICAL at 230 lbs. He is an elite defender while Nic is good

We need a franchise player. If Aldridge bolts, all aboard the tank express. Keep contracts to a minimum

Gotta bring Durant back to the NW so HCP can bust that Jersey put

A max offer would force the Warriors into the luxury tax. Neil would have to get very creative with the offer sheet to make the Warriors pass.

Package Batum for a big.

Groom Meyers.

Nice idea, a max contact doesn't look so bad when you consider that it's only a couple million dollars raise for Nic Batum (who only has one year left). The Blazers need a front court player with some ganas.

If Aldridge bolts, I'd go after Ed Davis and Aminu, then see if we can get some young prospects for cheap like Harkless and Vonleh.

Groom meyers for what? He is not a starting PF in the NBA. He'll be like one of those 7 footers that can do nothing other than hit 3s. Sometimes they are good, but lets not delude ourselves.

If Aldridge Bolts:

Don't resign Wes unless he's dirt cheap.
Don't resign Rolo.
Trade Batum for capspace and a young player.
Package Dorell Wright if he's still on the books.
Steve Blake is 3rd string PG. Play more Tim Frazier or get an upgrade.

We'll have a decent backcourt future with Lillard and McCollum. That's basically about it. Meyers can be groomed into a 6th man type of player.

We'll be fucking terrible until we can swing a lopsided trade (Nic Batum Expiring Contract) or luck out in the Lottery.

He rebounds and hits jump shots...at least he's a better shooter than LA.

The way the Blazers have played without Matthews has given him a lot of leverage in contract negotiations.

Don't resign Rolo.
I wouldn't give him more than 7-8

Doubt anybody wants him.

Yeah, wait until opposing offenses scout Meyers. He's basically Rael LaFrentz.

I wonder if the Clips go out in round one if they'd trade Blake Griffin. I mean he's exciting and marketing and all, but if the Clippers want to win a 'ship, Aldridge is a much better fit for the team.

Blake is Gerald Wallace waiting to happen.

As he ages his game is going to decline FAST.

His 8'8" reach is going to kill him.

He's got 3 or 4 years left before that happens. At least it'll be fun to watch.

Draymond Green is this year's Lance Stephenson.

Not even close.

Draymond is 1a/1b with Kawhi as the best defensive player in thr League.

There's a reason why he's likely to get a max deal this summer.

Lance barely got over the MLE.

If LA bolts, we need to turn this team into a run-and-gun offense with Lillard. Get Alvin Gentry to install the system and then go hard after free agents like Jimmy Butler, Greg Monroe or Paul Milsap. Those are probably unlikely signings, so also look at dudes like Tyson Chandler, Corey Brewer, Danny Green and CJ Watson as a plan B. Let Wes & Rolo walk unless they take cheap, cap-friendly contracts. Trade Batum.

Uuh? Lillard will be the franchise guy. He's already very close anyway. As Bill Simmons said, he already gets more of the spot light, TV commercials and if you don't think that matters. Your crazy!!

1. Draymond Green is going to choose between Golden State and Detroit, who has made no secret that he will be their #1 target, so forget that.
2. If LaMarcus bolts, we're tearing this motherfucker to the ground, so no big investments on players that might bump us down in the draft.

I disagree. It's won't be a total rebuild prosses.

Greg Monroe wanted to come here before, let's see if he still does if it comes to it.

My #1 target would be Draymond Green.

Forget that. If LA bolts, you want to bring in Draymond Green and win around 35-40 games and have like the 10-13th pick of the draft and be stuck in purgatory?

If LA bolts, bring none of the FAs back and bottom out. Starting lineup should be Lillard, McCollum, Batum (and put him on the trading block for young pieces), Leonard, and Kaman (trading block like Batum with that expiring contract)

Win 20 games and contend for top lottery picks. You either want to be a legit playoff team or one of the worst teams in the league to get great draft picks. In between is the worst place to be.

Yep, we must rebuild around Lillard then. Grabbing a player at the same age as Aldridge won't do that, especially one that is a stat padder

Do you really think that this team can be a contender with Draymond Green over LA? Or Greg Monroe over LA? Even Brook Lopez over LA?

If LA leaves we no longer have a chance of contention. Franchise will hit the tank button, as they should.
