What do you guys think of the big Polish center starting for Gonzaga? His backup, Zach Collins, is a much better nba prospect IMO, but Pryzemek is flying under the rader. 7-1, 300 pounds, he could back up Nurk.

It seems he could be a Pekovic quality player. I think the pendelum might be starting to swing the other way, as far as big men go. So many teams are going "small" and don't have big men that can really guard the post. And as we've seen, big guys with a post game can have their way down low.

I'd be happy to see portland take him with their 2nd or 3rd pick.

Not to knock your rankings, but if those comparisons were right, that would be the greatest draft of all time. But I do question the team that picks Josh Richardson two picks above Chris Bosh.

Is he the one that already looks like he's 29? He was massive! I'd draft him.

I don't like him due to he slow and don't Reb very well for his height and not rim protector.

You mean Chris Kaman if he gained 75 pounds and lost any of his athleticism and jumping ability?

No thanks. Serviceable player, but he's a non draftee.

You're obsession with foreign prospects is insane
No it's not.....Jusuf Nurkic and Jokic..Saric....there's a lot of talent in the Euro league..I'm glad Rasta and Fez keep up with the foreign players since we don't get to much coverage of those guys here stateside.

No, I mean Pekovic. He's not athletic either, wasn't a shot blocker, but I would have loved to have him coming off our bench vs anyone else we have on this team.

I think you can see the similarities here:

Sorry, I didn't mean to challenge who you compared him to, I meant thats who I think of him because of his beard, etc.

I will riot if we use a first round pick on Shem Karnowski.
Even a late one? Very few players picked in that range pan out anyway. But Pekovic was taken high in the 2nd and was a really decent starter before he got hurt.

Portland will need a backup center. Leonard is garbage, and Davis is a prime canidate for a salary dump trade.

Going off topic, but I wonder of the T-wolves would take Leonard off our hands in exchange for Pek. The salarys match, and Pek is an expiring. I wouldn't expect Pek to ever play for us, but it would be a way to dump Leonard.

Yes, even a late one. There are 32-38 more talented players who might not pan out.

If we are going to reach for somebody I would much rather use our last first round pick on Kadeem Allen and hope he can translate his defense to the next level.

Karnowski might not even get drafted but I think he'll stick in the league. He's got a good bball iq and he's huge.

Wouldn't draft him unless it was a second rounder. Too stiff and awkward for the NBA pace, but a hell of a traditional center. Could easily see him signing a UDFA deal.

The problem is, they overate almost every international draftee. They hit on some, but sometimes they suggest drafting guys in the 1st round that will probably go undrafted and not make it anywhere in the league.

As a die-hard Zags fan, I say hell no.

The dude can't get 2 inches off the ground. He'd be a poor rebounder and an even worse defender. His scoring wouldn't be great. He won't get drafted. Definitely shouldn't take him with a first round pick.

And this is coming from someone who loves Karnowski.

Nurkic is getting paid in two years so finding cheap replacements for either or both Allen Crabbe and Evan Turner would help.

Justin Jackson (crabbe) and PJ Dozier (turner) are probably your best bets in this draft.

Still hoping Collins declares and he makes it to our pick. Last night's game is making that less likely though. I'd trade up for him, but I'd be hesitant to give up either of our other 1sts, especially if he can't play with Nurkic.

Karnowski wont stick in the league. No way. He's decent in college, but nowhere near NBA caliber.

Why couldn't he stick? My biggest concerns with him has more to do with non basketball stuff (his back, injuries, and conditioning.)

As for skill, he has enough to stick. Don't have to look much further than our very own arvydas SABONIS. Dude could barely move by the time he was in the NBA, but made up for it with his brain and natural skill.

He is way too slow and he can't get off the floor. He's not 7-3 like Sabonis either.

The league isn't as big as it was back then either. And he's still huge.

We'll find out soon enough. I will be shocked if he gets drafted.

Up until very recently Zach Collins was a player who was likely to stay one more year. Out of nowhere, like Jarrett Allen, is expected to test the waters. He's a lotto lock, I don't see him staying at Gonzaga one more year.

He only played 17 minutes/per but his PER40 numbers were always off the charts.

As of today - my Blazer draft power rankings:

1)Zach Collins
2)Jarrett Allen
3)John Collins

The way their stocks are now we'll definitely have to trade up for Zach and Jarrett, John could be there at our own pick.

If Zach Collins comes out for the draft, which I think he might. We need to go after him. He can play PF in the NBA. Lining him up next to Nurkic would make a formidable front line for years.

I asked this a while back in one of the other threads but had no takers so I'll ask again.

Anyone wanna take a guess as to whether or not Marcus Keene gets drafted?

Not a guy you see on mocks, but I think he can play despite his size and wouldn't be surprised if somebody in the league went for the long shot hoping that he can translate his scoring to the next level.

I agree. He seems to have a good feel for the game. Seems confident and mature for his age.
