assuming trade with Anderson for Harkless trade goes through.

I think they're all making in the neighborhood of $19 mil.

Lol why are we assuming that trade goes through? I put it at under 25% prob. But to play along with the game... Crabbe then Anderson, and lastly my favorite Blazer - Evan Turner. Crabbe still has some potential left, maybe?

Anderson gets a WS/48 of 0.117 (0.6 VORP) for $20.4M per year.

Crabbe is WS/48 of 0.090 (0.6 VORP) for $18.9M

Turner is WS/48 of 0.050 (-0.3 VORP) for $17.8M.

I personally think it goes Anderson > Crabbe > Turner. But all 3 are VASTLY OVERPAID for their contributions

Anderson > Crabbe > Turner.

In a vacuum, I think Turner is a better basketball player than Crabbe as he's better in a number of ways. But it's just so hard to survive in today's game without a reliable outside shot.

That's why it's an attempt at an apples-for-apples comparison.

Multiple twitter sources/rumors tonight. Of course it could be an incestuous thing.

on the court production potential.
Turner is the most versatile, but also the worst fit because he can't shoot, Anderson edges Crabbe because of height and forcing bigs to close on him, but the truth is none of them tilt the floor for this team; not one makes a damn bit of difference in the big picture of playoff success. Six of one, half dozen of another.

So this assumes the trade goes through AND we still have ET and Crabbe? What salaries are we sending out in that deal then?

If we are talking the player's value to the team this season based on likely production only: I'd go Anderson>Crabbe>Turner

If we are talking about their asset value, considering their contract and future production: I'm going with Crabbe>Anderson>Turner

Crabbe is cheaper and will improve; Anderson is more costly and will decline. Turner can't make a three.

I was just thinking, Turner would fit real well in a starting 5 with Anderson.
He's only at peak effectiveness when handling the ball . . . that means less touches for Damian and McCollum, both of whom are at their best when handling the ball. See the problem yet?

Turner should probably be nothing but a sub on this squad (as backed up by his middling efficiency number throughout his career). If he is going to start then that means CJ should become the team's sixth man, and that's just not going to happen.

With Dame and CJ we really need wing defenders like Turner...he doesn't need to be taking many shots...off the bench he'll shoot more.

He should never have been signed in the first place. Classic square peg trying to fit a round hole.

Poll Results:
After 19 votes, no consensus on who is most valuable. but Anderson is not the least valuable.

Crabbe as most valuable - 5 votes vs 11 votes as least valuable.
ET with 8 votes as most valuable vs 6 votes as least valuable.
Anderson with 8 votes as most valuable vs 4 votes as least valuable.

So far, Anderson is leading with +4, ET is second with +2, and Crabbe is last with -6. I'd say there is a consensus that Crabbe is the worst of the bunch.

Why was this team at its best (pre nurk) when Turner starter then? Turner fits with CJ and Dame and is Portlands most consistent defender.

"At its best?" What was so "best" about anything pre-Nurk?

I refuse to vote because I refuse to believe all of Anderson, Crabbe and Turner will be on our opening day roster. If we take on Anderson, we need to move one of Turner or Crabbe. My preference would be Crabbe, since Anderson replaces his 3-point shooting, he makes more than Turner, and because of his age and 3-point shooting, I believe he's more tradeable.

No offense but this is a wasted thread. Anderson is not and will not be a Blazer.

No offense taken. Whether he is or not, I was interested in who people think is better among the 3 players who are paid relatively the same.
