New York Knicks center Enes Kanter is facing charges for various insults against Turkish Basketball Federation president, chief advisor to president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and former NBAer Hedo Turkoglu, according to Turkish newspaper Sabah.

An indictment was filed on the grounds that Kanter has “insulted Turkoglu more than once on different dates”, per the report by Sabah.

The Istanbul Cyber Crimes Investigation Bureau prepared the indictment which is based on “humiliating and hurtful messages” made by Kanter against Turkoglu on his social media.

The indictment mentions that even though Kanter won’t appear before the judge, he will be tried in absentia because he “has to be punished for the charges of insult”. The case will be heard before the Assize Court.

This is just one of the many charges that Kanter has been accused of by the Turkish government. Apart from the charges for “being a member of an armed terrorist group” due to his support of exiled cleric Fethullah Gulen, who is considered by the Turkish government as the mastermind of the 2016 failed military coup, Kanter has also faced charges for insulting president Erdogan.

Ball.

Should've just said ball.

For real, part of the team I commanded in Kabul had Turkish advisors on it. Whole spectrum from guys who spoke English well and had been trained "in the West", to guys who had never left Turkey before coming to AFG. I kept in touch with a couple after I left via email from time to time, and in the last year they've all dropped off the map and my emails went unresponded. I stopped sending them once I realized they probably did more harm than good if you're being persecuted for being under the sway of Western Christians and you have this US military dude emailing you.

If insulting Hedon't is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

For saying mean things? Weaksauce

Good to see that homer post...his sig cracks me up....I have a well-known member!

probably on a bagpipe tour of Scotland about now...and putting the rough greens where they invented the game

I'll find him, but I need his job title to know whether to look outside or inside the Pro Shop. Is he the Irrigation Fluids Tech, or the Clubhouse Concessions Liquid Engineer.

He should really turn off social media
His off court stuff was one of the reasons why I was against adding him. He also is a diva when he doesn't play.

But it seems to be working so far. Just hope that Dame et al have created even of a strong culture to allow for his crazy to actually be a positive for the team rather than a distraction. I'm much more concerned about how useless he is at guarding the rim. I knew it was bad, but holy shit, he makes Meyers look like Gobert out there.

I just have this feeling that we're going to reach a point where Nurk gets tired of seeing a lack of defensive effort from Kanter, he's gonna try to talk to him (or call him out) about it, and those two are going to butt heads.

Probably just the Blazer pessimist in me, but that's where my head is. :dunno:

Dont get to watch a lot of games in Bosnia but it looks like Dame is one of the few superstars who is trying to be the mentor for his teammates , to help them develop rather than bitch about lack of talent
