I don't think that even comes close to getting Leonard.

McCollum is a gifted offensive player. He's creative, and would be a nice complement with LaMarcus Aldridge. And a 2018 first-round NBA Draft pick is a tantalizing asset when few teams are willing to trade them.​

Why does Canzano say shit like this? I bet 25 teams would give up their "tantalizing" 1st round draft pick for Leonard.

Our best offer is CJ, Collins, and a 1st. I've said this before but Kawhi would be leaving a team he won a title with, a team that would still be a contender if he was healthy, and an organization that I've never really seen a person want away from. Word is his camp is in his ear telling him he needs a bigger market. If he is unhappy with the Spurs he sure as hell isn't going to stay with the Blazers. We don't even know if he is going to be healthy enough to play next year. So we'd almost certainly lose Kawhi after the one season in which he might not even play and we'd have nothing to show for it because we mortgaged the future too.

The 24th pick is such a great asset to trade for Leonard because so few teams are unwilling to give up a 1st round pick.

Lmao. Philadelphia essentially gave up Jayson Tatum and a likely top 5 pick in 2019 for Markelle Fultz. The New Orleans Pelicans gave up a 1st for Nikola Mirotic. Yeah, the Spurs will jump at that offer since it includes a 1st round pick!

Is Kawhi permanently injured? Could Olshey get him to re-sign here?

If those 2 answers are right, then I remind you that SF is our position of need. McCollum and a 1st would start the conversation, not be the final word. Another team will probably get Kawhi, but the point is that do-nothing, draft-only Olshey should try. But he overrates McCollum, and won't. He'll say he made a couple of calls, but he won't seriously try.

Leonard is only 26. He's a superstar player playing in his prime years. He's under contract for next season at $20.1 million and holds a player option for 2018-19​

Huh? Next season is 2018-19, and his player option is for 19-20. Seriously, who edits this stuff? Quality control at the O is nonexistent.

In the Internets infancy, message boards, usenet groups and chat rooms were full of fans who would complain about trades that the Blazers didn't make, that in fact where just rumors.

Any time a fan complains about a trade that they read in an article or heard on the radio (that has no basis in reality), an angel gets their wings. That and it shows just how stupid that fan is.

Can we get both Kawhi Leonard and Blake Griffin? That should be the grand plan this summer. Not draft picks and building young. Give Dame a winning team!
