The Beatles were huge when I entered high school. My favorite was "I wanna hold your hand". I've still got their white album record.

No, the Beatles were huuuuggge!
I can still see them the first time they appeared on the Ed Sullivan show. The entire country went nuts, especially the girls. Well the girls that did not faint went nuts.

my secret illuminati pen pal/deathpact buddy says the plan is for his double to die right before xmas this year. strangulation by terrifically powerful hands. They havent decided if his "hanging" will include the beating off part (and what he was beating off to) yet, ongoing high level negotiations.

last word was he is lobbying for a single car accident, but that seems like a longshot at this point.

First harmonica lick I ever learned was from Love love me do....first lick on bass was probably Come Together...one of the first licks I learned on guitar was the opening to Day Tripper....still warm up with that song when I practice

Paul is definitely on my bucket list of seeing in concert before I die.

700 bucks later and I'm seeing Elton John in January, so all that's left is McCartney.

Actually, now that I think about it, he's on my bucket list to see him in concert before he dies.

First lick I ever learned was from a girl named Ha....er, I mean, a piano. Yeah, a piano.

The wife won two tickets to Elton on the radio last year and took my mom. They both said it was the best concert they had ever been to by far, and my mom has seen some shit. Actually the city of Casper WY voted it the best concert in the city's history (Not sayin much, but still).

I started on trumpet....very good instrument for lip and tongue control...ladies love them some trumpet players

I started on the Trumpet... tried to play that thing for maybe 5 years. Then the day came when I realized, I had no skill with this tool, no talent for making music. It sucks but it is true.
But I very much appreciate those that do.

You licked a piano? Most guys brag about licking a girl.

Loved their song "Twist and Shout".

Saw Elton on my honeymoon at Caesar's in Vegas when he surprise-subbed in for Celine Dion for 2 weeks. I wasn't stoked to see either of them, my wife was looking forward to Celine, and the hostess was so apologetic she set us up 3rd row center. It was ridiculous and well-done. Rocket Man went on for like 10 minutes, and they had home video of topless Marilyn Monroe in the background as Norma Jean was playing. Hadn't been a fan until then (just ignorance, not that I thought he sucked or anything) but it was a well-done show. I don't go to many, but it was the best.

Ha! I have never been a fan of those that perform in those shows.
But like you say, just ignorance, especially on my part. Once I see one, most are very well done. I usually start with, oh hell! How am I going to sit through this?

I saw that Ed Sullivan show. I also saw Elvis on Ed Sullivan's really really big show.

I saw Elton in the latest Kingsmen movie. God, he looks old. Still sings great, though.

I saw his concert at the Moda in 2005 right on the main floor and was so in awe the whole time I felt like crying when it was over. You sit there getting chills up and down your spine because he's so amazing and you know you're in the presence of a genius who's music will still be played hundreds of years from now like Beethoven.

He sings a song to his wife Nancy and we see her in the audience. I looked her up. Paul had better have his assets audited every year.

Mike Shevell and NEMF both have connections to the American Mafia according to an investigation conducted by the federal government. In a racketeering suit filed by the U.S. Attorney in 1988 Shevell was accused of making Mafia payoffs and having an eleven-year corrupt relationship with Tony Provenzano, a Genovese family mobster and former union leader who was convicted of racketeering and murder. The matter was settled with no admission of wrongdoing.[1][2] Shevell's daughter, Nancy Shevell, is an NEMF vice president. She married musician Paul McCartney on October 9, 2011.

Well, I'm sure he will be admired for a long long time but I don't think I could compare him with Beethoven.

I watched for over 12 hours last night. I just woke up, thinking that this was the greatest concert in history. (Bias: I like his brief tunes and historical stories.) I repeat...watch it. It's one and a half hours long.

I also woke up thinking that this exhausting tour will kill him at age 76. Only about the first 5 cities have been announced. We'll see a legal inheritance dogfight between his daughters and the Mafia. They keep singers working way into old age till they drop, like Frank Sinatra, Gene Pitney, and many others.

Paul McCartney reps bro culture!

Talk about coming together: Paul McCartney provided a master class in TMI-fu in a profile published Tuesday, detailing a group masturbation session that he partook in at the home of Beatles bandmate John Lennon.

As McCartney explained in the GQ story, it was “just a group of us. And instead of just getting roaring drunk and partying — I don’t even know if we were staying over or anything — we were all just in these chairs, and the lights were out, and somebody started masturbating, so we all did.”

The session was fueled, according to the “Maybe I’m Amazed” musician, by the participants calling out names.

“We were just, ‘Brigitte Bardot!’ ‘Whoo!'” McCartney recalled, “and then everyone would thrash a bit more.”
