Baldwin or Papa G ? We have already 13 Players on guaranteed contracts (I 100% expect Nurkic to come back so that makes 14 Players on guaranteed contracts), and 6 of those are guards, or Maybe 5 if you see Trent as Wing. But anyway i still can't understand why Olshey extended Laymans contract, except for his 1st nba Game Dude was horrible 29.8 FG% and 20.0 3pt% last Season... Another huge Olshey mistake. So considering the Blazers have so many guards and we are one injury away from Meyers getting 20+ minutes playing Time, i think we should sign Papa G and cut Baldwin. It really makes me a little bit sad because he was great in the minutes he got last Season and you could see he is fighting for his Job, but i just do not want to see Meyers on the court again in a Blazers Jersey. So if Nurkic or Zach get's hurt Papa G would get those minutes and not Meyers, i would feel much better

I couldn’t pick PapaG out of a lineup. Literally don’t know what he even looks like. I must have checked out by the time he was with the team last season. Baldwin isn’t getting cut.

Are either of PapaG or Baldwin eligible for a 2-way contract?

In any case, not sure why were talking about cuts now. The deadline to trim the roster to 15 (plus two 2-ways) is still over 3 months away. Let's at least see how these guys do in summer league, training camp and preseason before we vote any of them off the island.

We also still have two TPEs left and 3 months to make a trade, even if it's just something like Jake Layman for a future top 59 protected 2nd round pick.

Depends on who makes the cut at training camp time and who we bring into the roster..I'd say Baldwin stays and we bring in a vet big

The issue is IV & PapaG contracts both are non-guaranteed right now. They become guaranteed 2 days after summer league ends. One of the two are going to be cut in the next 2-weeks or so.

I really hope it’s not Papa G... he is only 21 and we haven’t seen what he can do... don’t understand not cutting Layman, he is a bum... another case of Neil’s ego for a player he drafted dictating a move

I hope we keep Baldwin AND Papa G. IOW I'm hoping for a consolation trade.

Got it, thanks.

Bye bye PapaG, we hardly knew ye!

Or maybe even a consolidation trade.

Unless you think someone will show mercy on us for whiffing in free agency...

Hahaha. That's what I meant to say. But apparently my subconscious had other ideas.

I like the idea of consolation trade. Who would give it to us? Maybe Celtics trade us Jaylen Brown for Meyers Leonard as a consolation for them making Evan Turner look good.

Looks to me like they'll try to upgrade with a vet big man...a ZBo or Al Jefferson type for cheap...mentor the young bigs and give you spot minutes...Tyson Chandler won a ring with Stotts….we have plenty of youth...PapaG will go and we'll probably get another Chris Kaman type for the bench. One year deal...just a guess. I think David West is still unsigned..not sure

Olshey got too many SGs. Buy out Layman and call Trent a SF. Trent and Simons won't play this year, anyway.

Upon further consideration, Coach jlprk has modified his lineup. The Coach wishes to congratulate Olshey upon Olshey's discovery of a SF, but cautiously notes that Olshey didn't sign enough guards and should find 4 more.
