OT: Zhou Qi

Welcome to our community

I'll invent a new acronym for every time I see a big that's better than Meyers:

BTB

Better Than Butters.

Yeah boy, he sure showed those 6'2" Filipinos who's the man!

I'd say his upside is a poor man's Zach Collins.

I think I may have overestimated Zhou Qi's upside. As much as Zach Collins struggled as a rookie, Zhou was WAY worse on the offensive end. Here's a comparison of the advanced stats for their rookie years:

The only thing Zhou did better than Zach is block shots - in 124 minutes of pure garbage time. Plus, he's two years older than Zach with three years experience playing professionally in China.

The bolded part is a lie. The NBA did look at him - extensively:

"The NBA reportedly did a second test on Austin, which confirmed Austin has Marfan Syndrom. The league follows the guidelines of the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology which say people with Marfan Syndrome should not compete in high-intensity sports with contact."

How dare you, sir! I meant, the NBA isn't going to let him play. Obviously NBA *doctors* have looked at him.

Since some here have Collins in the HOF after an 8/5 night, they will want to sign him ASAP

No one here has ever said anything close to that. You seem too have a real problem with anyone saying anything positive about our team or one of our players. Are you rooting for Collins to fail so you can say, "I told you so"? You seem much more invested in your own negativity than the success of the team.

You'll say it was a joke. If it was, it wasn't funny the first 1000 times and gets less funny with each retelling.

If we're talking gettable bigs - what's going on with Lucas "Bebe" Nogueira?

If we still have this exception, why are we not signing anyone? Lucas Nogueira is available, would give us excellent rim protection. Could have him with Zach on the floor and completely seal the paint

...followed by a pageful of people laughing at him. This board does have its favorites.

I noticed nobody has made a thread about this guy yet. Looks like a star in the making.

You can't use the excuse that you're working because it's the offseason....get your shit together!

Zach played PF the majority of his rookie season.

A few caveats:
  • Next season we are playing him at Center.
  • He's was born of two white American parents.
  • He was born in Las Vegas, NV, a city in America.
He now fully meets the necessary criteria to receive the brunt of @Mediocre Man's hate for WABC. :dunno:

I mean, we should've been known this was coming once NO showed Ed the door.

It sucks that Ed was shown the door. :( why’d yeah have to go and bring that up....

To BNM’s point - I wasn’t a fan of Zach’s selection I know many were. I loved Zach’s defense though, he paired with Ed very well on that end of court. If (and I have some hesitation here) his offensive game comes around he’s going to be a very good NBA player maybe not an all-star but one of those would start for most teams that don’t have an all star type player. He’s got the BBIQ, he looks natural on the basketball, has good footwork, and even his shoot looked good mechanics wise.
I cheer for the Blazers and their players, I’d rather be wrong when I said they should’ve drafted Mitchell, than right. I’ll be pulling for Zach this year and as long as he’s Blazers.

There are a few on here who definitely seem more interested in being right than the Blazers out performing expectations.
