you have to hand it to Olshey...he really likes to double down on his mistakes
* he matches the asinine offer sheet to Allen Crabbe; basically pays him nearly 40 million for 1 year of below average basketball; then trades him to Brooklyn so the Blazers can carry a 2.9M/year blot on salary cap for 7 years
* against all reason he reportedly offers Meyers a 15M/year deal...which Meyers refuses; a year later after Meyers has a mediocre season, Olshey gives Meyers a 10M/year deal; 2 years later in a move that opens up minutes for Meyers, but doesn't help the team, Olshey lets Ed Davis walk...but his boy Meyers has opportunity to "space the floor"
* against all reason, Olshey bids against himself and offers Turner a ridiculous contract. Turner is so giddy about the loopy offer he calls his friend Iggy to tell him about it and Iggy tells him to sign immediately. It become quickly obvious that Turner is a poor player and a square peg in a round hole league. So what does Olshey do? By his own words, he designs a bench around the talents of Turner....and look how that is turning out
sorry, I know this thread is about Turner, but I don't blame Turner for what he is as much as a blame the architect of the situation that forces us to watch Turner every game
