What a joke at guard as Lillard is only 2 spots and 25,000 votes ahead of Alonzo "I can't shoot" Ball

I wonder how many more votes Damian would have if they had swept New Orleans (and woefully under performed this season)....

Honestly all star voting has always been a complete and utter joke. Doncic has been good but seriously he’s above KD, AD, PG13?
DWade is going to be a starter again...?
Derrick rose might end up starting.

It's worse than that, I'm afraid. Cousins got more votes, despite the fact that he hasn't played a single game this season. (EDIT: nevermind, I misread that list)

It's just one giant popularity contest. Basically, if you're not GS or the Lakers, then you're fucked.

There needs to be a committee of coaches and retired players who vote for this, not the public.

Yeah, I had seen that as well. Reminds me of when Kobe and Yao Ming were injured and voted in as starters. I have never liked the fan vote and fans would be fine with the coaches and maybe even GM's voting for all the players.

Agreed. Personally, I think that if you aren't active on a starting roster, then you shouldn't be voted for. IE: Cousins.

Screw the fans. Screw the coaches. Screw the media.

The only people that should get a vote are NBA players.

I'd like to see Dirk play in one last game. Dude has stuck with his franchise for his entire career. Even taking less then max money. He deserves one last honor from the fans.

Only if they add an extra player and do the same in the east and put Wade on the team.

None. Wanna know why?

Because of dmc.
He has hardly played or not even played at all but still has 92kvotes.
Most nba fans that vote are complete idiots as proven by dmc. What on earth makes you think a series win over the pelicans would change that? ;)

Eh, I dunno. I think its high time we give the spots to who deserve it for the current season.
I mean i agree he deserves something, so why not some lifetime nba a achievement award or something? Maybe an annual award?but id rather see the all star game ckeaned up. Back in the 80’s they used to play it like it was a playoff game and it was all about who is the best at the moment.

I dunno the Players can be pretty bad at just voting for their friends too. I say Players and coaches. Coaches know who they have to gameplan for better than anyone wouldnt they?

I disagree with this completely. I think the players would have a lot more integrity in this process than you're giving them credit for.

It's really hard to know that though. I just think that while the Players opinion is valuable balancing it out with the coaches opinions would be ok enough for me. I think Fan voting is terrible though. Coaches and Players do have a different yet hands-on approach to the game.

The NBA All Star game can suck it. Until they announce one in Portland I’m done with it.

I agree.

I just feel the players would even do a better job than the coaches.

Should one of the coaches who is coaching the game get to vote?

I'm kinda against that. I don't know, I just feel like they'd do the best job.

It won't happen but just about anything would be better than the fan vote, I could support all Players, all coaches, NBA scouting departments voting, heck just anything but this stupid popularity contest that determines if a guy gets his money from being an all-star. I guess I also don't want a media vote, too many voting members that don't even watch the games, it would be as bad as the fan votes.

While I don't agree with a lot of them, I can at least understand much of the early returns. But, where's the Derrick Rose love coming from?

I love the Derrick Rose story, he looked like he was never going to be anything again and has turned himself into a very valuable player for Minnesota this year, but having him that high on the all-star game list just so dumb...

Players and coaches would have him ahead of Rose, Westbrook & Thompson.

That's great as a "comeback player of the year" story, but an all-star starter?

If Rose and Doncic make it, it will be very hard for both Lillard and Westbrook to both make it.
