OT UFC legend BJ Penn got knocked out by some random, half-naked guy

theres another video of him fighting the same dude later, apparently he (BJP) attacked him from behind in a cheap shot n took him down so he could mount him n hit him.

BJ lookin like a real loser in all this.

He is a loser! He deserves so much worse, dude is a coward wife beater and has a reputation around Hawaii for being a prick (as if the violence against women isn’t enough)

Im a UFC fan. Not all of them are bricks and rocks. Some are very intelligent people. Though im a casual fan 10 yeRs removed from being an avid fan.

It sucks. Bj penn was one of my favorites and in his prime he was the best ever possibly still in my opinion. Lost so much respect for the dude. He has always been known for street fighting, but that is completely different than smacking your woman.

I’m a ufc fan too. I’ve met some of the guys and most of them are good dudes. BJ not so much.
 
Honestly, I'd like to see Steven Seagal and BJ Penn go at it in a street fight.

Michael Jordan is a legend. I'm sure there are millions of people who never even watched him play, but they know who he is.

Tom Brady is a legend. Again, I'm sure there are millions of people who have never seen him play, but they know who he is.

Babe Ruth is a legend.

Wayne Gretzky is a legend.

How can this dude be a legend if I can name three UFC fighters and he isn't one of them?

I don't watch UFC hardly ever. I have heard of Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey.... but do you really consider Ronda Rousey a legend?

The funny thing is that it's Jon Jones who is the best fighter in the history of the UFC and MMA in general. BJ Penn is absolutely a legend and you have proved that you are not a good litmus test, when it comes to MMA.

Or I'm the perfect litmus test because I don't really watch MMA and I have never heard of him. I pay a lot of attention to sports though. I listed five or six legends from other major sports. All of those people are household names to people who don't even follow that sport.

Because there are unquestionably more than three UFC fighters that are legends. I don't see why who you (one person) can name means much of anything.

Boxing and MMA are the sports I dislike the most. The only ones Ive heard of Are McGregor, Rousey, Khabib (mostly because of jumping out of the ring) for MMA. Heard of quite a few boxers though.

MMA still isn't mainstream enough to have its legends household names. You sound like a person who has never paid attention to basketball saying that Bill Russell isn't a legend because they'd never heard of him. So please realize that you don't know enough about MMA to say who is and isn't a legend.

Wouldnt the ‘Legends”, transcend the sport though. I bet most people on the planet whether fans of the sports or not, know the names, “Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Ali”, to name a few.

No one is calling Penn the GOAT, even though he was for a while. If you think only the greatest of all time in a given sport is a legend and each sport only has one, then I guess BJ isn't one. However, if you think Bill Russell is a legend then believe me when I tell you that BJ is also a legend.

I guess it really depends on how were defining it. I wasnt meaning to say theres only one “legend per sport”, was just saying that in the way I’d define a sports legend, is someone whose fame goes beyond just the reaches of the sport itself.

I can accept that may be defined differently by others.
