That is actually not a well known slur. Tbh this was the first time i ever heard it. I don't know but this probably says something about Meyers that he knows what it means

It might mean something to Jewish people whose families have been killed while that was being yelled at them. Society's faults don't excuse the damaging actions of the individuals who give in to those faults. There's no excusing racism.
 
This is why I don't understand pro athletes or other people in the public eye doing something like streaming gaming.

It would be like getting drunk on stream. People do shit and say shit while gaming that they wouldn't normally say in public. Not making an excuse for Meyers, but my point is that it's taking a risk. Being in the public eye is all about perception. You're giving people an unfiltered view of yourself.

TLDR - he done fucked up.
 
I have to admit that I don't really know what that word means though. I assume it's derogatory but that's about all I know.

Yeah, I just always knew it as a slur against Jewish people. I don't really know the history of it.

Really? i guess I don't understand video games. I played COD back in the day and I may yell at an NPC (never really did that head to head stuff), but I don't think I ever dropped an N bomb or racial slur. I'm sure I called someone a bitch, so maybe I am not immune from that. But, I just don't understand people that use racial or ethnic slurs at all.

I was born in the 70's and it was a well known derogatory term to me. So i am also surprised, but some of these younger people must not have been exposed to that word as being offensive. I think part of it too was the more openness and anti-semitic forwardness of the KKK during the 80's maybe? I don't know. Just speculating here.

I figure most people have seen George Carlin work this derogatory term angle and at least have seen Robin Williams in the Good Morning Vietnam bar scene with the brain dead redneck marines.....

If you go into one of those games you'll see a lot of racial slurs, things like "hitler was right" stuff like that. It's kids trolling. It's stupid.

With that said, this isn't Meyers trolling. This is just a straight up racial slur.
