OT LeBron James said Kyle Rittenhouse should 'knock it off' after the teen cried during murder trial

Seems pretty simple... If he was attacked (including advanced upon with weapons) he was defending himself. If he wasn't then he wasn't defending himself.

When you get angry people in an area with other angry people violence can happen.

The solution is to prevent people from getting so angry at each other. Address the root of the actual problems.

Everything else is just theater...

The whole situation is stupid and nobody should bring guns to a riot, but when you’re being attacked by multiple people, some of them armed, and you do whatever’s in your means to stop them, that is called self defense.

He knowingly took an assault rifle purchased illegally for him across state lines and claimed to be guarding a store, of which the store owners had no knowledge of or gave permission to do, then pursued a group of protestors until they came at him, so he could shoot them. He could have decided not to go to Wisconsin, he could have stayed at the store after the protestors passed...but he decided to follow them, to put himself in that situation. He made his choices and he made them deliberately. He is guilty as shit.

And all of that should be taken into consideration. Taking an illegally purchased firearm across state lines is illegal and he should be punished accordingly.

But if he was attacked (rather than he himself attacking) it was still self defense. Everybody out there put themselves in harms way and did stupid shit.

Again, it sucks that people were killed. But they also put themselves in that situation and contributed to hurting the cause.

All of this is just a destraction from the real problems.

Maybe, is it really self defense when there is provocation? He was walking around with an assault rifle. He went there looking for that to happen. He went after them.

Let’s chase a guy who has an assault rifle, knock him to the ground, point a gun at him and see what happens.

Walking around with an assault rifle is stupid, but it isn’t murder. And he never chased anyone, he was being chased. There is video of the entire thing.

He went after them first. He followed them before they turned and came after him. He was "guarding" the store. They passed by. He could have stayed there and it would have never happened. He followed after them. Then everything happened.

He never pointed a gun at anyone until there was one pointed at him.

If he gets off on this, it's going to set a terrible precedent. More right winged MAGAS and white supremacists are going to think they can bring their assault rifles across states, shoot protestors, claim self defense, and get away with it.

What was the provocation? Holding a gun? Not pointed at anyone. He was accosted and only shot when he was actively being attacked or threatened. Clear case of self defense.

Following after them with a gun. He put himself in that situation.

He's a kid who thought that gun made him a man. He came there looking for a confrontation and unfortunately he found one. He unnecessarily put himself in a position to take a life. The legality of this is to be determined but he was the catalyst. He wasn't saving anyone. He's isn't a hero. And he's sure as hell not a victim. He made a series of bad decisions that resulted in him taking 2 lives.

Kyle certainly looks like the aggressor here.

He is a menace to society and at the very least should never be allowed to own a gun again.
