Waiting for all the doubters to acknowledge. But you know they'll never cop to it.

I had high hopes for Ant and was glad we kept him back when we traded Trent. I said on BE we kept the right one. I knew it after that season ending game that changed our playoff position. Then I had doubts again after awhile. I remember mid-January I saw it and knew it was real. When I started thinking we shouldn’t even trade him for Simmons I was like wow this kid is the real deal if my offseason fantasy isn't enough to pry him away.

Honestly, like I just said in the game thread the game against the Nets on March 18th will be nine weeks and one day after Dame's surgery, a surgery that takes four to six weeks to recover from. Dame should be back by then because we will be competitive. If Dame and Ant don't show major synergy by the time our clock runs out on this season... obviously hoping that's in the playoffs, then we need to get the best star running mate we can for Ant that really fits in Chauncey's system and better fits Ant's timeline. I think a package centered around Jaylen Brown would make a lot of sense for both teams.

We'll see though, maybe Dame and Ant will play complementary ball and we'll have the best back court in the league along with some great role players. If that's the case I would want to send two future firsts to Detroit for Grant and fit him into the TPE. He's never even said he wants to be the number one guy or that he needs a max contract but honestly if we get Ant to re-sign for around 25M per season at a discount, we should be able to extend Grant for that amount at full price. We could draft BPA with the Pelicans pick. We would have a rotation of Dame, Ant, Nas, Grant, Nurk, Hart, Winslow, Trendon, the Pelicans first rounder and one of Keon, GB3 or Elleby. If Dame and Ant make each other better then that's a contending team.
