I'm really hoping this works again lol.
It’s one of the reasons we are trying to tell some of our stubborn thick heads on this board that they needed to play the kids more. First, because of the cap and not being able to sign a lot of your vets. Second, you have to wonder if the kids had gotten a lot more icetime and some power-play time would they have finished those chances they had yesterday.
Sadly, some don't 31 but the cap is going to stupid proof the Rangers once again. Drury should be whipped in public if he doesn't give Lafreniere a Shesterkin kind of early contract. Kakko needs to be locked up immediately as well. The cap will simply elminate some vets on this team. Drury's dumbass Nemeth signing will cost him either Georgiev or Jones to get rid of his ass. Get rid of Georgiev, Rooney and Nemeth. Start moving little contracts as well. Move Hunt and Gauthier. Edmonton is on crack if they don't think Georgiev is a better fit on that team than relic Mike Smith. Gimme a break. Drury will have his work cut out for him. I guess Reeves was extended for another year unless I'm reading it wrong.
Yes - Lafreniere has absolutely improved his game. More than one way to grow/teach a kid. It's hard to improve your game as a scoring prospect when your entire life you are used to getting 18 minutes of icetime and first PP time and then they use you as a role player. The cap is going to force the Rangers to do what they should have done this season. Rely on Lafreniere and Kakko as cornerstone pieces.
