This was talked about in another thread, and I was surprised to see people shoot it down:

I'd do that trade in a second (provided the pick(s) were suitably protected). Am I alone in this?

In general, I don't see OKC considering that trade UNLESS:
1. SGA goes to them and demands out (who would blame him) - but if so, would he really want to come here, where Dame is on the downslope of his career, we're unlikely to contend, and we'll get worse rather than better (and OKC will pass us in the other direction soon)
2. SGA is fucking up their plan to tank for Wembayana (but then just have him fake an injury, like several Blazers last season).

I'd trade Ant and Nas for a needle moving SF and a backup 7 ftr...throw Greg Brown in the deal....no to trading our draft picks this season. Slide Hart to the 2 guard where he's supposed to play
You know SGA is 6'6", right? Remember when he and Chris Paul and Dennis Schröder all started and OKC, which was supposed to be tanking, tied for 4th best record in the West (9 games better than us with a healthy Dame and CJ)?

The only reason I would consider trading Simons right now is if I’m confident Sharpe will start soon.

Trading Simons + extra for SGA to just replace him seems ridiculous.

Simons + picks + maybe even Nas has to bring in a star level/potential SF to pair with Dame Sharpe Grant and Nurk.

I’m in shock people are so down on Ant early hell it’s only preseason. He’s an elite shooter/scorer! We finally developed a player and now people want to trade him, ughh. Zero patience, let’s see how this team develops up till all star break if it doesn’t look promising then consider all options

I'm not down on Ant...I think he's a bad fit next to Dame and we're too small....I also think he brings you a better player in a trade coming back and he'll thrive with his own team ...slide Josh Hart to the two and see the difference. I like every player we have but I'd trade to win now. That's why it's called selling high on a player.

No. I’m interested in trading Simons but for a bigger player (Simmons, for instance). I’m definitely not interested in trading Sharpe. I want to trade Simons so that Sharpe can start.
I want to trade Sharpe so the Blazers 2023 pick has a spot available in the rotation.

Bad three point shooting. Can't stay healthy.

Maybe he'll bounce back/improve, as he's still pretty young, but... I dunno.

I am very patient (I’ve watched this team for 33 years and still no title). I love Simons but it’s either him or Dame and I choose Dame. Sharpe (or Hart) needs to start at SG. A 3way in which Kyrie goes to Lakers, Westbrook and Simons go to Nets, and Simmons goes to Blazers would be perfect.

Dame/Sharpe/Simmons/Grant/Nurk seriously contends in three years. I’m patient, remember?

You know the difference. Sharpe is bigger than Simons and has skills we haven’t had at that position since Clyde.

They should trade Damian, Ant and Sharpe, so their lotto picks in 2026 will have a clear spot.
It’s not about a clear spot. It’s about starting our best SG at SG. Not playing our second best PG at SG.

Not bad- but NJ isn’t doing that

I'm used to going against the grain, but I'm a little surprised at the love this board seems to have for Anfernee and Sharpe. I'm guessing it's mainly belief in the potential of the latter. Hope your faith is rewarded!

Nothing is stopping Chauncey from doing it now and bringing Simons off the bench if he wants to. Right now he could start
Dame, Hart, Winslow/Little, Grant, and Nurk.

Next year he could start Dame, Sharpe, Little, Grant, and Nurk
or
Dame, Hart, Sharpe, Grant, Nurk

I love Dame but he is getting older. He may or may not start getting more injuries. I don't know the future but I do like that Ant can step in and duplicate a lot of what Dame brings if Dame does get hurt. I love having depth, now we need to get some for the frontcourt.

We're too tiny. We need to size up by the deadline. Giannis is SF for Milwaukee.
