...plus they'd like to keep Nurkic, Covington, Powell and all future draft picks, in order to build around Embiid. Everyone and everything else is on the table.

Cause no way Embiid is coming to Portland. The league has turned into a players league where players actually decide or force where they want to go. Embiid, like every other star, won’t choose to come here.
 
Embiid, with that knee. No thank you. He's too big for his own good. His knee wishes he'd stop thinking he's a SF.

If Sixers flame out again, Harden goes back to Houston, and Embiid asks out, would Morey do this deal? Ant/Sharpe/both FRPS unprotected?

I always like to pose the question back to the person asking….

Would you trade Dame for Maxie, a rookie that shows promise, but nothing else and two unprotected picks most likely to land in the 20s?

Keep in mind Embiid is far more valuable than Dame to an NBA team

They will be, and Philly can suck it! I doubt Embiid is acquirable . But i surely ain't gonna help that franchise get better. If The Chia leaves, they should look to acquire Spencer Dinwiddie. Be a nice facilitator , and not that expensive with the youth movement about to get under way in Brooklyn.

I’d give up #3 and Sharpe in a package for Embiid. You have to. He is a fucking MVP. Pair him with Dame, you have to go for it.

if harden leaves is embiid really gonna be ok running it back with maxey and Tobias Harris? Does morey really want to do that?

Guess we 'll find out. Thing is, i thought Harden didn't like the Rockets owner Fertitties politics.
 
With Harden opting out and looking elsewhere, there are rumblings (and betting odds) that have Portland at the forefront of many conversations.

HOWEVER.....the starting asking price (typical Morey) from what I've heard, they want, #3, Ant, Nurk AND Sharpe for the oft-injured MVP. (Jokic is laughing)

Of course there would have to be more to it as it doesn't work cap wise, but that is why this would never happen. Morey wants a ransom, and Portland would be left with Dame, Embiid and ......crickets.

please don’t take offense but he did stay healthy enough to win MVP. Say what we will about him he’s a sure thing and absolutely a player that would make us a contender at least for couple of years. Now you may be right the cost would likely empty our cupboard, likely costing us Sharpe along with 3rd pick and maybe another 1st. Does Simons, Dame, Grant and Embid is damn good lineup then fill in with some vets and you’re a championship contender.

would I do it maybe be the best team we put on floor in a very long time

I would love to find a way to keep sharpe and instead throw them 2-3 future firsts after getting our pick back from Chicago for the NY pick.

IF (still a big one) Embiid actually asks to be traded, that could change Morey's typical calculus a tad...

Much like if Dame asks out, it's not quite as simple as trading him wherever for the biggest haul. Players (and their agents) of that caliber will carry enough gravitas to at least somewhat dictate the locations and terms... So carrying that big IF further, IF, Embiid asks to be traded to Portland, Morey won't have the same leverage as in other deals... Maybe including Sharpe is a deal-breaker, maybe not, but I'm not convinced this situation would be business-as-usual for Morey. Ant, Nurk, maybe Little and plenty of 1s would certainly be in play for Embiid and my goodness it would be appealing to put next to Dame.

Last thought -- yes, it'd be cupboards fairly bare if we had to include Shae, but we'd have those 1s to use for another guard, and a Dame/Embiid core would be appealing for a lot of veterans to join up with.

We could do way worse.
 
#3 Ant future firsts I'm definitely doing it

I bet they want Sharpe too.... Risky to give that all up but yes risky not to acquire the MVP. I'm torn
 
We would have to give up Sharpe. Idk if I’d do it tho.

Maxey, sharpe, and miller would be a good young foundation for the 76ers
 
I think Brooklyn has some of Philly picks?

If there is a way to give up some of our future firsts too, but get Brooklyn into this so we get Bridges as well then yes I'm on board with giving up all of Ant/Sharpe/#3.
