Dame's 3pt% is in the fucking tank. And it's not just his shot selection-- he's missing plenty of open shots too. He needs to get that shit right. Kemba has surpassed him so far this year.
I selected look here this is pretty bad. Well especially for these 5 teams: Spurs, Timberwolves, Pelicans, Rockets, & Jazz. They all made the playoffs last season but are looking out and need to do some hard climbing, which includes a lot of fighting with themselves still. I feel better at least not in that bunch. If we end up in joining that mess I will be pissed though.
Here's the way I see it under this team's current makeup. This team seems to play in spurts. They are up and down. I'm assuming they make the playoffs. I haven't seen anything that makes me doubt that at this point. I am optimistic an upswing is ahead. The question about the postseason is a) are they in an upswing or are they in a downswing, and b) who are they playing?? If it's a top seeded team like Golden State, I don't have any reasonable hope they can advance. So, a tear down and rebuild isn't the worst idea, as long as Dame can see that they will be competitive and is open to resigning. If he's not on board, though, you either have to stay the course, try to improve the team (i.e. trade CJ??), or trade Dame.
3 game losing streak is probably the worst time to evaluate a team....after Xmas we'll see if we're still trending downward. I think we'll be in win now mode at the allstar break though and probably looking for a couple vets
It's only 20% of the season. The rest of the season has not been played out yet...……..Always hope...….I know. I'm a Raven's fan.
Agreed. In fact, it's almost comical how many of Dame's "best friends" Olshey has disposed of. It's like being Dirty Harry's partner or the drummer of Spinal Tap.
Here is Terry Stotts comments about 20 games in: "It's kind of two different halves," head coach Terry Stotts said after Tuesday's practice. "Our first 10 games were really, really good and our last 10 we've had major slippage at both ends. I think it's kind of difficult to see where we are after 20 games. At this moment, we're not playing our best basketball and we've got to turn it around." Also on the video, comments by some of the players; I was disappointed with their comments, seemed very complacent and lackadaisical. https://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/...l_blazers_discusses_highs_and_lows_20_ga.html
Im beginning to feel some wind of change brewing? I agree with you in that their comments seem a bit lackadaisical. I remember after the the great start Start Dame was interviewed after the game Dame was stating they are fresh as it's the beginning of the year and everything is crisp and clear. I think the reason he and Stotts are close they are both realist with a teachers mentality rather than emotion and preachers mentality. I think too that the younger player looks at professions and competing, as being important but not always #1 priority because of what else is going gone in their lives, like anyone else in a profession or work force. Its a job.
They could also be going through kind of a funk, either individually or collectively. I'm sure they are more into their jobs at different points of the season. Everybody goes through peaks and valleys.
I agree...and think about it we are talking about guys in their 20's for the most part. When I was early 20's I was driven but I was also influenced by more than my career, and yes sir when other things started happening, marriage , babies, music, base & soft ball, water skiing, there were days I went to work thinking about some of those things. and it could be real distracting. These guys really are working out of there homes which in itself takes huge discipline.
