I think if we were to go back to summer of 2015 and tell us back then that we would be fighting for the 8th seed in 2017 most of us would believe we were at or ahead of schedule in the rebuild process. We had an anomalous string of events last year that gave us a false barometer of the state of the team.... A team in rebuild mode. As such the Front Office had to make moves to Win Now to keep the ball rolling, so we signed Turner to be quick addition and also Ezeli. I also suspect there was a lot of pressure to spend the money we had lined up to be able to spend, but the Blazers aren't the only team looking at the books right now and saying Wow we may have overspent. I don't think we need to blow it up, but we do need to get back on track with the rebuild. We probably should expect some lateral changes of direction and not radical major moves. We can move some of our lesser exciting pieces (Davis, Aminu) for mid-late picks, put a bigger emphasis on getting Vonleh and Layman regular PT. The team is the 2nd youngest team in the league there is no reason to "Blow it up".
Tlong... absent anytime something good is happening, but the moment the Blazers aren't doing hot.... THE RESURGENCE!!!! Welcome back....sigh... On the side, Why is it that the negatives. the glass half empties, the ones who have nothing positive to say, never seem to be around when we have a good win and only show up when its a good time to jump on the bashing bandwagon? It boggles my mind how people can live so negatively like that... I can only assume that these people are the same in real life. @tlongII curious. Do you intentionally bypass or divert yourself from positive happenings in real life and instead flock toward the negatives? I am not asking to demean or glorify, simply trying to understand an obvious different mindset than what I have.
....with caveat of currently holding the 2nd highest payroll in the NBA and a ceiling of maybe 47 wins. At least the bottom of the league can talk about draft picks we are going to be a playoff team 10 games UNDER 500 there is EVERY reason to 'blow it up'
I don't think you're trying to understand anything. When my favorite team is a train wreck I lash out. Sorry if that bothers you.
What am I supposed to try to understand? That you lash out when things are negative, but disappear when things are positive? You just said it. When your favorite team is a train wreck, you lash out. But they weren't a train wreck last year and you all but disappeared. I am trying to understand is if you ever come on here when they are doing good and provide/offer up praise? I am serious. I do not recall one positive post from you since I have been here. It doesn't bother me. Its confusing is all. Do you ever get "UP" when the Blazers are on a roll?
I never said anything about them. I was asked, and I don't understand what the question is. Shit... I'm here for both. I have voiced my disappointment amidst my homerisms.
But don't you see? That is my point. I'm confused by people who say they are fans, but only seem to come around for the negative talk and hardly ever show up when things are better.
It's pretty understandable to me. Feedback on company forums generally follows a similar pattern: people who are largely satisfied don't bother to comment. People who are angry have the motivation to log in and say something. There are undoubtedly a lot of Blazers fans who read this forum but don't necessarily want to talk (write) a lot. But anger/frustration creates motivation.
